Asterisk Manager Interface notes
Hello, After battling with the Asterisk Manager interface(and getting it to pretty much do everything I want to do with it) I thought I'd share my experiences with those who are developing or are thinking of developing applications using it. First here's a list of some of the things the manager interface will let you do: - Dial a call from any extension/resource to any other

recording calls
Hello, You can use ZapBarge as an extension in your dialplan to listen in on conversations going on in Zap channels(Zaptel device channels) As for recording you can use the Manager interface command StartMonitor to start recording of a Zap channel and StopMonitor to stop it. Zap channels are pretty much the only ones right now that you can directly monitor and record through Asterisk. If

Asterisk Manager API - multi "Originate" cal ls
Hello, You can do either, you can send multiple Originate actions in a long line without waiting for a response back(although the responses do usually come back very fast) or you can open multiple connections using each one to Originate a new call. We use the multiple connection method in the astGUIclient suite because if you get a pause or lag in Manager output on a single connection(which does

New ASTGUICLIENT released: 1.0.1
Hello, We've released another update to our Asterisk GUI Client suite: http://astguiclient.sf.net/ Screen shots: http://astguiclient.sourceforge.net/screenshots.html The client suite runs on both Windows and UNIX and includes a dialer (the suite is not an asterisk configuration tool) In addition to the usual bug fixes, this is mostly an update for the VICIDIAL dialer application.

astGUIclient users should not upgrade to Asterisk 1.0.5
Hello, Just confirmed this on my end, because of the massive changes that have been made to callerID handling in asterisk 1.0.5 many of the features of the astGUIclient suite will not work on this new version. The latest stable version recommended is Asterisk 1.0.3. We will work on trying to find ways around the new callerID rules that the asterisk developers have put in place and hope to have

Monitoring Conferences
I have benn having trouble with the Monitor Command. Basically any time that I send a call into a MeetMe room I am only able to monitor half of the conversation. File-in is recorded with the incoming voice but file-out does NOT record anything. I have tried this with both the b and m option as well as without any options to the MeetMe command. Also the Monitor correctly records both sides of the

live monitoring
Hello, I've search through all of the lists and cannot find any descriptions of live monitoring (monitoring a phone call going on between an extension and a zaptel channel live from another extension while the monitoring phone is muted). I am aware of the monitor function which is actually a call recorder, but I'm looking for live monitoring from a muted extension. is this easily

Manager.pm port
For anyone that cares... I am porting James Golovich's Manager.pm over to PHP. I plan on also doing some documentation which will cover both the Perl and PHP APIs, which will be almost identical (at least, to whatever extent is practical). Will let y'all know when I have some usable code to show you. -- JustThe.net Internet & Multimedia Svcs. [The Fusion of Content &

Asterisk Manager Interface, reliably monitor NewCall for an extension
Hi Everyone, I am writing an open source application that brings desktops widgets to OS X (http://sourceforge.net/projects/astrxtools4osx/), for which I am trying to get my head around the Asterisk Manager Interface. I had been using the Event: NewCallerid to detect a new call which my Asterisk server doesn't seem to send to the socket anymore, because of which I have reverted to using

ENC: Action Originate (Asterisk Manager) X Monitor()
Hi people! I need a help. I connect with Asterisk Manager and execute an Originate Action that asks for Asterisk to call for a number 09194**** and to transfer to peer 101. This command enters in my dial plan extension that I made exclusively for tests. The problem is: If I do the call through ORIGINATE Action, the Monitor() just makes the record file, but this is empty, if I do

Monitor Asterisk
Thank you to all those who replied to my last query. For them and for the suggestion, I can monitor asterisk using the asterisk -r -x "<command>" option. What I would like to know is that using asterisk -r -x way I can only use the *CLI commands. Is there any other way in which I can monitor asterisk? Moreover it will be very helpful is someone can provide me the C file of the

AGI problem (crash) in RH9
If you're using perl on RedHat 9 make sure you put this command somewhere in your boot scheme: export LANG=C or at least execute it before running perl scripts. Redhat has EVERYTHING set to LANG=UTF-8 and it screws up all sorts of perl stuff, and several other pre-written programs in other languages too MATT--- -----Original Message----- From: Ray Burkholder

IAXPeerGraph - a beta of another windows monitor app
We've just completed another Windows monitor app. This one has a scrolling taskman-like interface. Once again the zip file just contains the .exe file and the INSTALL.txt file. Oh, and by the way, the blue light that flashes next to the green connect light (it is black in the picture) toggles between blue and black whenever it receives a response from the simple manager proxy with IAX

Is there something wrong with "show manager commands"?
Is it just my box, or is there something flaky in the implementation of "show manager commands"? Note: I'm using putty. About half way through this, I toggled my KVM over to the desktop and logged in to try and recreate it. The output was the same as the last two entries in this dump. bebop*CLI> show manager commands bebop*CLPing Ping bebop*CLLogoff Logoff Manager

Asterisk system lock
Hello, In the last week I've been getting a lockup about every 2 days. during the lockup the people that are on the phone can keep talking, but noone can initiate any kind of call internal or external. I went into the manager interface and tried a Action: Hangup and Manager gave me a Success message back only to see that the Zap channel was still active in the "show channels"
