CDR Rewrite -- Questions to the users (Steve Murphy)
Quoth Steve Murphy... >Date: Mon, 12 Jan 2009 08:51:03 -0700 > >QUESTIONS: > >Which of the two would you see being useful to you? Obvious comment really but given LEG based CDR, one can determine the 'Simple' data but you can't work it the other way. I'd therefore find LEG based CDR more useful as the granularity (time on Hold, in Queue, Waiting on pre-xfer ring

Stupid tricks: preventable?
I just experienced something I'd rather not experience again. Using a SPA-841 SIP phone connected to our Asterisk server, someone dialed their own extension, answered, and then transferred the call using the phone's "XFER" soft key. This does a SIP REFER. Now, the phone has dropped out of the loop, and Asterisk has connected the two call legs into a loop, as far as I can tell.

Slightly OT: Rails + Mongrel Proxy Server without Apache
Hi, I''m looking for suggestions on the simplest way to implement an HTTP proxy under Rails/Mongrel. It should preserve ALL of the proxied HTTP response - including all header content such keepalives, etc. Yes, I know I can do this with Apache''s proxy module, and we already do that for the non-development/test environments. This is just for the development/test environment

Escape characer for Digit Timeout
Hi *, I hope this is not a FAQ, but I couldn't find any solution until now. I need to set an escape character to stop digits timeout to let phone calls start immediately. Something like '*'. I saw that in many SIP phones it is possible to set timeout and escape character and the most have a "send" button. But in an analog phone connected to a Digium TDM?

My Phone Review- Large Scale Corp Deployment.
I have had the opportunity to test many IP phones in the last 6 months and I thought you might enjoy a quick review of what I have found. Grandstream Budgtone 200 - Poor Quality for business use- Looks good, and the handset feels nice, buttons have a decent feel, but the disply is difficult to read when you are not directly over head of the phone, plus the sound quality of the handset, and

Testing null values: ast_yyerror(): syntax error
OK, I'm going nuts here trying to correctly identify null values, specifically when callerID info is not available. FYI, I'm running Asterisk CVS-HEAD-08/17/04-13:08:53, and Bison 1.875a (debian Sid). A snippit of my dialplan looks like this: exten => s,1,SetCIDNum(${CALLERIDNUM}) exten => s,2,NoOp,${CALLERID} exten => s,3,DBGet(temp=idiot/${CALLERIDNUM}) ; Is the person calling

APC Smart-ups "status codes" (slightly OT)
We got replacement battery "kits" for some of our APC UPS' (Smart-UPS, rackmount). I put them into one tray (it's for an RBC 43, which takes 8, and weighs a ton), and put it in, and let it charge. Idiot "change battery" led stays on. So I hit the test button, it discharges very rapidly (a good number of servers on this), and the led stays on. For some reason,

post-xfer exec -- more juice!
Hello, I'm attempting to use the pre-xfer exec and post-xfer exec utilities to replace a complicated script which tails the rsync log and does A Bunch Of Stuff at the beginning and completion of rsync transfers. (It will also allow us to throw away a nasty hack which forces rsync to log the fact that is exiting - trying to provide a catch for /all/ possible exit conditions (ie, strings in the
