Some minor refactoring of Oggdrop build environment
I performed a minor amount of refactoring of the build environment for oggdrop.
These include:
Action: Added a workspace to manage project files and dependencies
Purpose: To build all dependent libraries before attempting to build oggdrop --
i.e. provide one-step build process.
Instead of opening "oggdrop.dsp", open "oggdrop.dsw"
Action: Added

mpg123 issue and solution
All,
I've been setting up an Asterisk PBX over the past few days and I stumbled
across a problem with mpg123 that I have not seen documented anywhere.
If you put mp3 files into your mohmp3 directory and these files have ID3v2
tags, mpg123 will throw an error message "Found new ID3 Header",
regardless of the -q flag.
This, in turn, will cause Asterisk to crash (yes), although

Zombie channels dropping lines
Hi all,
We are running Asterisk 1.0.0 with a TE410P. Very often we exerience
calls dropping in the middle of the call. I enable the full logging and
saw a couple of suspicious messages right before the hangup. Thos could
happen on a Zap-IAX2 bridge as well as on a Zap-Agent bridge... I see

ATA type IAX unit ?
For some time now some have been working on a winIAX client, plus
others....
Now basically as I have mentioned before (& no one has correct it)
there are 4 types of clients....
1) Softphones, eg msn, xten etc using all computer hardware.
2) Softphones plus hardware, eg: a usb type adapter (mind you
there are some things not common available with these yet.
3) Hardphones, basically your

On-Hook ADSI
Hello list,
I have reason to believe that ADSI can be spoken to phones even when
they're onhook. Is this true? Does anyone know?
Right now, I'm having trouble figuring out how to do anything to an
onhook channel other than ring it. Does this require a magic
application and some serious voodoo? Any pointers?
I got onto this idea because I noticed that whenever I got voice mail on

Plit result of pairs in an Sweave compatible manner
Hi,
I want to use "pairs" on a fairly big matrix, say more than 30 columns.
R tries to fit this on one page, which results in tiny invidual
rectangles, and dots are hard to see.
Is there a way to transform the output of pairs in a way that subplots
of 10*10, say, rectangles are generated. These subplots should then go
to Sweave which is accepting one figure at a time presently.

Help with plit plot design in logit model
Hi,
I'm trying to fit a logit model to a set of data that was collected under a split plot scheme. The structure of the data is
Whole plot factors: Watering Frequency (2 levels: Hi/Lo) and Fertilizer type (3 factors A/B/C)
Subplot factor: slope type (2 factors up/down)
Response: Proportion of infected leaves(Infected leaves/Total leaves) of the plant (2 plants recorded from each plot)

SuSE & Zaptel Compilation errors
Hi,
Thanks for giving me a detailed reply on hardware needs steven.
I have been looking at the archives in detail and found a few people have
had problems with zaptel compilation on suse(kernel-source-2.4.19.SuSE-342
// gcc 3.2.2 ) ... is shifting to red hat the only viable scenario...would
be a pain cuz suse comes with sun java desktop system( just bought it !! )
... any fixes would be a

Building zaptel on x86_64
I've searched thru the archives here, and am not seem much related to 64
bit builds (at least according to subject lines), so apologizes if
somebody already addressed this issue and I didn't see it.
I am running Slamd64 on a Xeon 2.8 with EM64T. I am using kernel
2.6.12.2, which is configured for SMP.
I cannot build zaptel 1.0.9, or CVS HEAD that I just downloaded today

SYSLINUX 2.20-pre1 available
After a couple of very late nights I actually have a VERY preliminary
test of the rewritten SYSLINUX available for preview.
However; don't expect it to do anything miraculous yet; the testing it
has gotten can best be described as infinitesimal. In theory, though,
it should now support EDD and FAT32, as well as FAT filesystems with
very large clusters (up to 64K).
NOTE: The Win32

Way to measure loss of quality
I think you misunderstood my quality measurement idea.
I mean if you subtract the original and the one after,
the LESS voice that is less over or the LESS you can
tell when someone is speaking, the better the
compression. This is still subjective but I think its
easier to tell this way because its easier to tell how
much voice is remaining than to tell how much the
compressed voice is missing from

Way to measure loss of quality
2 things, first an idea... next a question.
QUALITY MEASUREMENT IDEA:
I find it difficult to hear 2 voice samples and tell
which is nearer the original, especially if the
background hiss is slightly different. So what if you
actually subtract the post-compression sound from the
original and then listen to the DIFFERENCE. If you
can't hear any voice except background noise and some
hiss from

[PATCH] curve25519-sha256@libssh.org key exchange proposal
Dear OpenSSH developers,
I've worked this week on an alternative key exchange mechanism, in
reaction to the whole NSA leaks and claims over cryptographic backdoors
and/or cracking advances. The key exchange is in my opinion the most
critical defense against passive eavesdropping attacks.
I believe Curve25519 from DJB can give users a secure alternative to
classical Diffie-Hellman (with fixed

Parsechecking in a commit hook
This has been a much-requested feature, and is now a reality (in svn
trunk):
There is a new option, --ignoreimport, that will (surprisingly)
ignore import statements. This is really only useful when using --
parseonly in a commit hook, and note that you''ll have to add the
option to --parseonly, none of the puppet executables will add it for
you. You should be able to

YET Another echo issue PRI CARD Any help accepted :-)
Good Day all,
I have a Fractional PRI connected to my Asterisk Box via a T100P
card.
When I initiate a call out to phone number 123-8888 the call
sounds great no echo what so ever.
If the person at 123-8888 hangs up and calls me right back (same
handset on both sides) same trunk line
The call always has echo on it. The Asterisk sip extension
hears them selves echoing. The remote party

After some time away from it, and a big rebase as a consequence, here is
the updated version of paravirt_ops for x86_64, heading to inclusion.
Your criticism is of course, very welcome.
