Multiple SIP phones behind a Linksys firewall
And the firewall is in between the phones and both servers or are you registering the phones on a local server and trunking to the other server through the firewall?
In terms of nat and Cisco 7960s I've never had a issue registering two of them behind nat to a server on the other side, however, if you called one phone from the other, you'd end up with one way audio.

2 Asterisk servers (IAX) behind one firewall
Here's a good one for the group, I have 2 Ast servers behind a NAT
(Sonicwall :-( ) connecting to the same server outside the NAT. Each of
the 2 boxes behind register to the outside server. What I am wondering
is, would there be a problem if both servers behind the NAT were

Multiple IAX clients behind a firewall
Hi all,
I've searched the wiki, and my basic assumption at this point is to
run multiple IAX clients behind NAT I need to specifically code each
client to use a different port and then setup that port to be forwarded
from the NAT router to their private IP address.
At the moment, I can't seem to get more than one IAX client
registered behind NAT... am I correct in my above

Has anyone got * working with Xten soft phones
I have tried loads of configurations but I cannot get it to work.
I basically have three computers and want to use soft phones on two of them
to connect to asterisk so I can use them instead of dialling into my X100P
card as the phone bill is getting bigger.
I assume that I can configure * to accept calls from the soft phones and
then route them according to my dial plan. I am basically trying

tunnel iax via gnophone with ssh?
Hey all...I'm trying to use gnophone to connect to my asterisk box
behind my firewall..I thought I could just setup a tunnel with something
like ssh host.com -L5036:asteriskserver:5036 and just change my gnophone
to connect to localhost:5036 but I never see anything happen on the
asterisk server. I'm even trying this on the same network just in case
there is something funky with NAT.

How to change login for iaxtel.com IAX?
Hi,
I created an iaxtel account, and was given a password containing an
"@" character.
The directory pages imply that they change the web login password only.
How do I reset my IAX password so that it is usable in the iax.conf file?
Thanks,
Steve

Hi Folks,
Just wondering if anyone can give me some pointers, I'm configuring Asterisk to talk to FWD's new IAX service. The asterisk server is behind an iptables NAT Firewall, with port 5036 forwarded:
$IPTABLES -t nat -A PREROUTING -p udp -d $EXTERNAL_IP --dport 5036 -j DNAT --to-destination 172.16.20.200:5036
I can make outgoing calls just fine, but when I receive an inbound call

IAX Example Needed
Hi All!
I have two [*]s, and both work OK as a simple local PBX.
Now, I try to link them using IAX. Let's call those babies
a1 and a2. From a1, I want to dial a phone connected to a2.
Both boxes have a fixed IP address, and use standard port
5036, say a1.mystrx.com and a2.mystrx.com.
Where I (obviously) get confused, is when it comes to
inbound, outbound, registration, etc. Taking a hint

running ruby script/plugin install ... from behind a firewall
I''m probably missing something obvious but...
gems has the -p for proxies. Is there some equivalent for ruby
script/install or is there a way of running this that doesn''t need it?
Thanks

Outlook Web Access behind shorewall firewall doesn''t work
Hello,
I have a MS Exchange (small business server) that was just upgraded to
2003, behind a bering (shorewall) firewall. OWA is experiencing the
issues described in the following technet article:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;280823
OWA displays Loading, and does not display properly. I am already
running over https. (ports 80 and 443 are DNATed to the server).

ATA 186 SIP behind XP Dynamic IP Firewall to Static Public Asterisk
Is it possible to set up the following?
public IP Asterisk Server to ata 186 behind a XP server firewall.
I think my biggest problem is that I don't know how to make XP forward the
RTP port to the private ata address.
I would put up some configs, but was hoping that someone one who has this
working can share the working configurations incase mine are all messed up
(which is likely.)
