How to unlock old SCCP Cisco 7960 ?
Hi, An Cisco 7960 ipphone has been set to SCCP firmware by one of our students. I want to set it to 7.5 SIP firmware and I've been unsuccessful yet. Firmware versions are SCCP 3.0 (Source: http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/voice/c_ipphon/english/ipp7960/addprot/mgcp/frmwrup.htm#wp1045789) ie: Application Load P003F300 Boot Load ID PC030300 When I browse, phone settings, I see

upgrade goof up
Here's the problem, I upgraded all of my 7960 phones to SIP. Now my boss wants to carry his phone with him between offices. The other office has CCM which is set up for Skinny. Now I have to put SCCP back on a 7960 phone and it won't take it. Does anyone have an example of config files for sccp. Are they the same as config files for SIP? I've never had to go back to Skinny once I

Cisco 7905/7912 SIP image location (on Cisco's site)
Hello all, I feel dumb asking this, but does anyone have a link to the SIP firmware for the 7912 on Cisco's site? I have a SmartNet contract, but I just can't find the link (you can search for "7960 sip firmware" and find that fast). Thanks for the help, Jeb Campbell jebc@c4solutions.net

Skinny
At the present time you have to have a VALID ip address in bindaddr for Skinny to work. If bindaddr is either 0.0.0.0 or simply commented out all packets requiring the IP address contain 127.0.0.1. I forgot their nick, but someone in IRC recommended we make Asterisk be smart enough not to pick that interface, but I'm not sure of that is the problem or not. I simply have not had the

Cisco 7920 Image
Does anyone know if there is a Smartnet contract or whatnot available from Cisco for access to the latest 7920 images? I've got one w/ asterisk that is exhibiting a few of the documented bugs running 1.0.3 (1.0.7 is the latest IIRC). Thanks! -- /* Ian A. Cisco 7960 SIP Upgrade
I couldn't figure it out on my own. I tried to purchase a Smartnet for the phone, but the original 7960 is not supported. Is it technically possible and if so, what would it cost me to have someone remote into my network and upgrade my SCCP 7960 to the latest SIP firmware? ---------- Mike Hammett Intelligent Computing Solutions http://www.ics-il.com -------------- next part --------------

Asterisk SIP phones to Cisco Unity via CCM 4.0 SIP Trunk
Hi, I've got a CCM ( Cisco Call Manager ), with a Cisco Unity VM server and about 45 SCCP phones on the ccm, and 200 users on unity. we want to migrate all users to IP Phones to ditch our ancient phone system. I would love to get Linksys-Sipura SPA-941s for the 150 users not on IP phones yet and run sip to an asterisk server, but have their voicemail on Unity. these phones are $150 each,

Cisco 7960 SIP Images
What you and so may others on this lise seem to forget is that Cisco is a company offering bsuiness products for businesses. Businesses typically pay by check and wire transfer, especially for items such as this. If you want home-user pay-by-credit-card service, buy products from Belkin's home line and similar. Oh...what's that? None of these cheesy Stocked-at-Costco hardware

Cisco 7940G licensing with asterisk
Hi there, In Cisco web site http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/phones/ps379/products_data_sheet09186a008008884a.html It says that regardless of the technology used you have to buy a licencse. Does the license apply to use the phone with asterisk, or, can i just buy the phone? Also, the phone does not requiere to use an AC adapter if used with PoE injectors/switches. Can non-Cisco PoE

[SPAM HEADER] - Re: Snom or Cisco Phones? - Email found in subject
I concur with Conrad. Cisco phones were retrofitted for SIP, whereas Snom phone are built around, and expressly for, the SIP standard. To be in compliance with Cisco regs, you are also supposed to have a SIP User license and a Smartnet contract for each phone if you abide by their program. I realize it is not difficult to obtain the SIP firmware, but if you were dealing with a Cisco authorized

Cisco 7940/7960 users
Those of us that use Cisco 7940/7960 sip phones know that we've been impacted by two very different changes that have occurred over the last couple of months. First, when cisco created sip v6.x code, they implemented a new DSP (as well as other software changes) that effectively drops any incoming rtp packet that does not have even timestamps within the rtp packets. The dropped packets

Cisco 79xx series IP phones
Shawn, That's a complete load of manure. I have an office full of 7960's, they work great with asterisk with the SIP images loaded. I'm about to pick up a lot of 7912's (simple one line phones, same as the 7905 but it has a built in switch). These phones have also been confirmed to work with Asterisk. I would recommend not going directly to cisco, and just find a reseller who
