Direct entry to your own voice mailbox
Hi,
There is any possibility to dial a specific extension and then enter in your
own mailbox (the one defined for that specific SIP phone) without asking for
the exxtension number but only for the password?
I want to be the same extension for all phones, not a specific one for each
of them.
It is possible to have a time stamp in the recorded message? I want to know
when the message has been

More voice prompts available now
Thanks to a generous donation by VoicePulse
(http://www.voicepulse.com/) there are now a wide selection of useful
(and not-so-useful) voice prompts available on my website, recorded
by Allison Smith (http://www.theivrvoice.com/) There were some apps
and dialplan tricks that people were waiting on release because of a
lack of voice prompts; hopefully I received and remembered your
requests.

Voice mail options/behaving change?
How to change available options (behaving) during listening of voice
mail? (They are unnecessarily complicated)
For example, I don't want to press 3 (advanced options) and again 3 for
envelope. I just want to play envelope. Also, when saving message, I do
not want to choose folder, I want that message as default be saved in
old messages. And, I don't want to press 6 for next message, I do

Light-weight voice recognition for IVR
Hello list,
'Just wondering if anyone can point to a very light-weight and easy to
incorporate into Asterisk (v. 11.x) to handle a minimal set of responses,
like:
0 - 9
yes
no
(maybe * and # for some people)
The idea is that within an IVR menu, the caller could respond by speaking
to the typical IVR options, like:
For Archie, press or say 1 now
For Veronica, press or say

How to deal with voice SMS - Asterisk 1.4
Hi list,
I face a problem with voice SMSs. In some countries, if you send an SMS
to a landline number, the mobile operator will record the message and
then call this number. When picking up the phone you hear "You get an
SMS from <phone number>, press 1 to listen the message, 2 to repeat the
sender phone number". If you press 1 you hear the message and after it
you have the

Virtual fax on the Asterisk box
Hi all,
I want to get the following functionality: define one extension as a virtual
fax machine.
Every fax redirected to that extension to be converted in a picture file
(bmp/jpg/gif or something else) and then attached to an email and send to an
e-mail address.
Are you aware of a linux based application who does something like this and
can be installed on the same computer as Asterisk?

Removing mailbox and password prompt for voicemail
I tried your extension definition as suggested:
exten => *98,1,Verbose(0,${CHANNEL(peername)} calling voicemail)
same => n,VoicemailMain(${CHANNEL(peername)}@VoiceMail,s)
same => n,Hangup
But there was no change in the prompts asked, ie. the voice first asked for
'mailbox', and then 'password' as before. The prompts are not removed.
Please clarify what you mean by the

Prevent cell phone voice mail capturing call
Hi,
I've a DID number that gets passed to three internal phones and a cell
phone via my outbound IAX trunk. If the cell phone is off or out of
coverage, its voice mail captures the call.
What's the best way to avoid this? Is there a recommended way to force
the cell phone user to press 1 before the call is passed there ala
google voice? Or is there another way to detect the presence of

FW: (still problems) Dialing phone number and extension together to avoid listening to voice menu (incoming call)
Thanks a lot for all the suggestions!
Unfortunately, it still gives problems.
Most common error message is "ast_realaudio_callback Failed to write
frame" after "paying the beep". Then it says "User disconnected".
Also, it doesn't react to any extension entered and doesn't do any
forwarding (as it should in "exten =>

Forward voicemail to *remote* voice mailbox?
I've googled a bunch and looked at the Wiki, but so far if it's out
there I can't find it.
I would like for a user to be able to forward to a remote mailbox, if
that can be done without any AGI-ish fancies.
I'm going to bet that it can't be done with standard dialplan logic, but
thought I would ask here before starting to think up something as an
alternative.
Thanks.

x100p bridged - detect voice?
I'm running * on two pstn lines (x100p cards) that happen to also have
analog phones installed on the incoming pair for backup (until testing is
complete).
If someone is talking on a pstn analog phone and they talk loud
enough, * senses the voice (apparently assuming the line is ringing),
and rings an appropriate SIP phone (7960). Is there a way to config
* so as to only process inbound

Voice Prompt Info
I am trying to put together a list of 'departments' to request as voice
prompts. I have the biggies (sales, accounting, shipping, etc...) but I
want to make sure I do not miss any. If anyone anyone has some
suggestions (Ha... that is like going to an NRA meeting ans asking if
anybody has a gun :-) ) please forward them to me (and / or post here
