Two Rings
I've asked this question in the IRC Channel, and have had no happiness yet :-( I have incoming lines hooked to asterisk using X100P's. Unfortunately, when we cal forward our lines using the phone company, the line still rings about a half of a time. This is enough to get * to start 'simple switch' and after my 2 second wait, answer the line. Unfortunately, * doesn't see the

Installing IceCast2 on CentOS 6 / CPanel
Was hoping to get some updated instructions for this. Have access to a dedicated server. The info on the web seems to be outdated.....some of the links are DOA..... There was one simple install, but not sure if it would work: This tutorial explains how to install icecast kh10 server on centos 6 server # cd /usr/src # wget

Beginers Help - Hardware selection
I am new to Asterisk. I am trying to ascertain the hardware setup (and associated cost) I would need. The documentation in the wiki (and elsewhere) is extensive but I am somewhat lost in product model numbers. Hence I need an initial recommandation to work on. 15 incoming lines, 25 employees). Initial scenario is to use * as a plain old PBX. I need voicemail, ability to transfer calls, ... I

Samba just died? smbd/sec_ctx.c:set_sec_ctx(241)
Listmates, Running 3.2.1-0.1.126-1867-SUSE-SL10.3 (in standalone) I was quite surprised samba DOA. Further research show that it died shortly after midnight with the last relevant log entries being: [2008/08/10 00:24:15, 3] smbd/sec_ctx.c:set_sec_ctx(241) setting sec ctx (0, 0) - sec_ctx_stack_ndx = 0 [2008/08/10 00:24:15, 3] smbd/connection.c:yield_connection(69) Yielding connection to

Dovecot and NFS with file locking
Greetings all, I'm trying to get an understanding of a problem we are facing here. We're currently running dovecot 1.0-beta3 and have a long standing issue of system crashes on our mail server (Debian Linux 2.4.27-2-k7-smp). Here's what is happening: The machine hangs and the system load climbs as high as 80.0+. Yet, the system response is not effected. Command line is still

COnfiguring an * system for a non-profit organization
Hi, Maybe someone has seen this before... I've installed a new T100P, but it doesn't seem to work. I've attached the T100P to an Adtran 750 using a crossover cable. The Adtran shows a red alarm on the T1 interface. The Adtran has been set to factory defaults with FXS cards in 1-3 and an FXO card in 5. The T100P shows no signs of life--the leds are not lit. Should I be seeing

NT Crashes when doing large network file Xfers (was Re: NT crashes during smbtar)
Ok.. Just for the record, I STAND CORRECTED! The problem does appear to be NT.. The thing that irritated me was that nobody was interested in giving any backup data! Everyone just wanted to blindly admit that it must be NT. Ok.. Enuf bitching.. On to the better stuff... Anyway, David Mansfield and I are trying to narrow down the machine configurations where this happens.. Currently, we've

SOLVED : (NEW Printing FAQ Question) : After almost every reboot, Samba printing is DOA under Solaris 2.6...
Ok.. Just a little follow-up on my Solaris printing problem that I was having! As it turns out, I put the fully-qualified path names to the print commands (lpr/lpq/lprm, etc) in the samba config file (smb.conf) and all of my printing problems have disappeared! Now, after a clean reboot of the OS (Solaris, not PC), I can log on to Samba and directly print -- instead of it silently failing!

Hello Can someone help. I have a real need to have ssh working with OS390 Unix System Services. IBM said that they would like it there as well, but they said the openssh organization has issues with this. Can you help me understand what the deal is or issues are??? Thanks, Bill O'Donnell

Hi ppl . I am getting a IBM x3200.. This machine can only support up to 4 x 250GB SATA. I need to have a usable space of 500GB and mirror it to other 500GB. IBM proposed me to get 2 RAID cards. Do you guys think i can do raid 0 on the first 2 x 250GB HDD and raid 0 on the second 2 x 250GB hdd, both on hardware raid and then during the installation of centos 5, i raid 1 on both the 2 sets of
