Wanted: UK-specific hardware recommendations (FXO and FXS)
I have a pair of Asterisk servers which are happily routeing VoIP calls. I want to hook one of them to the PSTN. Given that I am in the UK, what is a reasonably easily-available device to provide an FXO interface from a Linux box, with a minimum of faffing around with drivers? Just one line is needed, though in theory two might eventually be useful. My usual white-box hardware suppliers don't

PSTN/phone/FXO/FXS cabling issue
I just received a Wildcard TDM400P by FedEx yesterday. I noticed that the FXO/FXS modules use connectors similar to Ethernet. Now, i want to connect the TDM400P to the PSTN connector in the wall, and also to a regular analog phone. Both the PSTN conn and the phone use smaller connectors, typical for analog phones. I searched the "official" docs and the Wiki, there's good

Wildcard TDM400P (TDM40B) connectors
Hi, I'm no phone guy but I've been having quite a bit of fun messing with Asterisk. I just unwrapped my new Wildcard TDM400P (TDM40B) which is the new 4 port FXS PCI card. It has 4 RJ45 connectors and I'd like to hookup 4 regular phones which are RJ11. If I crip RJ45 connectors to the phone cords do I simple use the center two pins (pins 4 and 5)? Thanks, Randy Smith Tiger

Adit 600 for asterisk
Ok, I've pretty much decided to try the Adit route. Somebody who has experience with these tell me if I'm missing something. I have 15 incoming PSTN lines. T1 is not an option at current location. I want to put in an Adit 600 with 2 8-port FXO boards. The adit will then connect to * via a digium t1 board. I configure zaptel.conf for the T1. What other parts would be needed? How do

Dumb TDM400P question
I have a TDM400P with 3 fxs and 1 fxo ports. I need to know which phone connector corresponds to which module and also which port number. If we are looking at the card with the PCI connector at the bottom, fxs/o modules at the top and the phone jacks on the left - do the phone jacks start at the top or the bottom (top is port 1 or bottom is port 1)? And which phone jack belongs to which

the FXS ports of Digium and damaging if connected to Tel Line
Hi All; I am facing a problem that always the users confused and connect the telephone line coming from the telephone service provider to the FXS port and cause it to be damaged, specially if the card was 2 fxs and 2 fxo, so they make mistake and connect the line to fxs while it should be connected to fxo. What is the solution for this disaster? Regards Bilal

FXS->FXO Converter??
Hi guys! I bought an device that it is used to connect two PBX, two modems or two phones. It has two RJ11 connections. If you plug two phones and pickup one the other one will ring. I am trying to use this device as a FXS to FXO converter with a X100P Clone. I plugged one end at the modem and the other one with a phone. The problem is that when I load the wcfxo module this device thinks

Best echo-free and trouble-free system?
We currently have a 15-phone system using Asterisk, a combination of analog phones/Grandstream HandyTone-286 and Grandstream BT101s, and 4 X100Ps connected to analog lines. The system works well except for the occasional echo problem. I have all the echo parameters configured, removed all the extra incoming analog lines except to the PBX, etc. following all the advice on the wiki and on the

Connection TDM400P to UK PSTN
I'm a complete Asterisk novice and have an installation based on the Asterisk@HomeCD. I've installed my TDM400P with 2 x FXO & 2 x FXS, but every time I try to dial out, I get a message "No circuits available". Can someone confirm the pinouts for connecting the FXO's to a UK BT Line - I have RJ11 connectors on the back of my TDM400P card, so ideally I'd like to

X100P question about odd behavior
Hi All... I have installed a single X100P card in my PC and am playing with Asterisk. The wire I plugged into the X100P has two POTS lines on it, wired on the RJ45 in the normal way. I am getting odd behavior. It seems when I dial out that the X100P dials both lines at the same time. I have two questions. First, I see that the X100P is only a single channel. Does this mean that I can

RJ11 x RJ45

Digium TDM400P has RJ45 interface, how to connect to analog phone RJ11?
<div><BR>Hello,</div> <div>&nbsp;I bought a TDM400P, and intended to use it with my analog phone, which is RJ11 ofcourse. So, the question now, how do I plug in my RJ11 phone to the TDM400P card, which has an RJ45 interface? Also, since it's an 11B card, I also intend to bring in an analog line into the RJ45, so i am still left with the same question....how do I go

2400P Pinouts
Hi, this is probably a stupid question but can someone point me to where I can find the pinouts for the connector at the back of the TDM2400P card from Digium. I am assuming this is some kind of telecomms standard but I need to connect to 8 existing analogue lines and therefor need to wire this connector to a patch panel or R11 jacks. Also most of the docs do not mention this card - am I

TDM400 with FXS some handsets not ringing
Folks, I have a TDM400 with an FXS module. I'm having some trouble ringing some phones attached to the device. I have a real el cheapo handset that cost me about 9UKP. It works fine, I plug it into the Wildcard and call the channel and it rings. I have tried plugging in my BT Diverse 3016 cordless phone but it will not ring, although I can call out from it. I have also tried my GPO 332L

low profile FXO card
Hello, I am looking for 4 port FXO low profile PCI card that could be used with Asterisk. Digium TDM04B sound like a good choice but it is half high PCI card and I can not plug it in my Dell box (small box). I am looking for adequate low profile PCI card (55mm high or similar but definitely smaller than TDM04B so I can plug it in). Does anyone know where to search for it? Thank you in advance,

FXO recommendation
Hi all, With the gamut of FXO cards out there, I'm looking for a recommendation for home use. I have a nicely working Asterisk 1.4 system that just requires an FXO card to connect my NTL PSTN to it. My previous X101P clone seems to have kicked the bucket. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Regards Kyle -- Kyle Gordon kyle@lodge.glasgownet.com http://lodge.glasgownet.com

clone MAC address
Hi, I have a mini router that have this feature, "clone MAC address" My ISP doesn''t allow me to connect more than one computer. But, with the "clone MAC address" of the mini router, I can connect up to 5 computers, and my ISP can''t notice that. What do I need to do this "clonning" with my linux box? Thanks, Nico
