File locking in NFS on Solaris
Hello, System: Solaris 8/9 Samba: 3.02 and 3.06 We have problems with accessing files (from Windows XP) on a samba server that are mounted over nfs (on the server). Some users have symlinks in their home directories to nfs resources. When they try to copy file located in nfs the client simply hangs. To make the thing even stranger: Sometimes it also works (after restarting the samba server

Question about mbox_snarf and dovecot2.0
Hello, I'm running revision 10622:de9d6dae7fe5 on AIX 5.3 with some local mods for our inbox hash function. I'm having a problem doing a "select inbox" when I use the mbox_snarf plugin. When I run truss on the process I see the following stat calls: 614528: kread(9, " 1 s e l e c t i n b".., 4096) = 15 614528: statx("/gpfs/inbox/14/tstem38",

kde-file manager su mode
hi y'all, ...realize that maybe I should go to kde w/this but then, I do run centos on my systems soooo... kk I like to run kde's file manager in super user mode. On one of my systems, it's acting it's ass...as my default editor I do use kwrite and I normally set that up to open any text type file w/that but for some reason, on this one certain system, I can't navigate among

[LLVMdev] Motivation for 'select' instruction
Hello, I'm wondering what was the original motivaton for the 'select' instruction. Was it for convenience, or for some deep reason. I'm asking because it's causing me some problems (see below) and I'd like to know I understand the situation before working those problems around. I have the following function: int logsch(int ih,int nbh) { if(nbh < 0)

rsync hang, more details [LONG]
rsync 2.5.0 still has a bug where it hangs under some circumstances. The hang is beyond my abilities to track down. I'll keep trying, though, but here are details in case they're of use to anyone else: - Code configured & built on Solaris 2.5.1. - Same binary run on Solaris 2.5.1 (client) and 2.8 (server). - Using rsh transport, but also fails with ssh - Does not fail with

rsync hangs when tunneling... help!
Greetings and salutations, rsync users. I have a problem. I'm hoping that someone out there could perhaps provide a hand. I've been trying to transfer large amounts of data (lots of data, lots of files) via rsync over an encrypted TCP tunnel, but I seem to be continually getting hangs in the transfers -- things will go along for a bit, and then just come to a screetching halt. There

[LLVMdev] pb05 benchmarks for llvm 3.3/3.4svn
Below are the results for the Polyhedron 2005 benchmarks compiled with the llvm/compiler-rt/dragonegg 3.3 release and 3.4svn against FSF gcc 4.8.2. The *-stock-de runs omit the -fplugin-arg-dragonegg-enable-gcc-optzns flag and the *-de-optnz runs include it. There seems to be little improvement between llvm 3.3 and 3.4 in the stock case which relies entirely on llvm for vectorization. Duncan, has

double click on shared folder (security=user) and it takes about 25 seconds to open the folder (if it even comes up). After that going deeper into the filesystem is not an issue...but when you browse back to the base folder you experience the same issue again (25 seconds or 'crash'). If it 'crashes' I get the error "\\servername\serverdir is not accessible. The session

Thai keyboard input does not work
Hello *, I'm currently migrating a friend to Kubuntu 7.10. He's forced to use a service which works with IE only (no other browser can display their website). Fortunately, IE6 works with Wine (I used ies4linux 2.99.0 (http://www.tatanka.com.br/ies4linux) to set it up), but unfortunately only with the English keyboard layout: When we switch to Thai (KDE shortcut Ctrl-Alt-K), the focused

Printing: The letters are too big
Hi list, I'm trying to use my printer (Hp Deskjet 930 C) with wine. I've successfully set it up with cups and it works perfect with OpenOffice, Kwrite, GIMP or other linux applications. But when I print something via wine, the letters are too big. (A 12pt letter is printed as a 72pt). I'm using wine version 0.9.10. Any ideas? I'd really appreciate any help. phil

Hi! Half an hour ago I installed wine-20041201 under Mandrake Linux 9.1, successfully I think. On my PC I also have a partition with Windows 98 in it, correctly mounted. I installed Wine with the main purpose of properly writing and reading documents in MS Word, since neither kword, nor Open Office kwrite nor even abiword achieve this purpose in a satisfaying way. Now, probably I haven't
