Opus Stereo for Speech
Hi,
I have a question regarding the stereo capabilities of Opus. I would like to establish a connection between two ends via Wi-Fi and the signals that are to be transmitted are of speech kind. It mean on both ends speech is both recorded and played back as stereo. Now would the delay and loss characteristics of the speech transmission at a certain bitrate be the same as Mono voice transmission?

copy installed IE6 and MSWord to another machine
Is there a way to simply copy all the Windows software I installed on
one machine to another machine?
At this time it's just IE6 and MSWord but there may be more Windows
software installed in the future...

multi user setup for Windows software
I would like to set up wine for a terminal server machine. I.e. there
are several users logged on this machine and running applications
at the same time.
Most of them are even running the same applications (MS Word and
a custom windows software that hosts IE6 and several ActiveX controls).
AFAIK I have to install IE6 and Word for every user. If there's an
update to one of the used

what is faster: wine20041019 or 0.9
I have an old Pentium 233 MHz with 256 MB RAM that has Debian and
wine20041019 installed. As this machine runs "not so fast" I'm not sure
if I should upgrade to 0.9.
If one of you could tell me that 0.9 runs a little bit faster than
20041019 this would ease my decision. ;-)

preparing relaunch of WineTols 0.9
Hello,
we are on the way to relaunch winetools for 0.9. One problem remains
unsolved: Whenever we start Word 2k, it states "Preparing
installation..." and "Please wait till office completes the
installation..". It does so and we have a working Word.
But is it annoying that is done on every single start of Word. All other
Office2k apps perform very well.

MS Visual FoxPro DECLARE command doesnt work
I'm a programmer using Microsoft Visual FoxPro for daily work. I'm
trying to run a self written program on wine. This program uses several
Windows API functions. An example is:
DECLARE INTEGER ShellExecute IN z:/usr/lib/wine/shell32.dll.so ;
INTEGER, STRING, STRING, STRING, STRING, INTEGER
ShellExecute( 0, "open", "notepad.exe", "", "", 1 )

IE6 on wine
G'day
I was trying to install IE6 on wine and cannot get past the following error:
wine: Call from 0x39140a00 to unimplemented function
shdocvw.dll.IEWinMain, aborting
I know it has been listed before, but I have gone through those threads
and cannot find an actual resolution. Sorry if I missed it though.
I am ultimately trying to get my Visual Foxpro 9 to access the mysql
database and

Wine 0.9.11 and Visual Foxpro 9
G'day
I am trying to install Visual FoxPro 9 with wine. I have been following
the instructions from "http://www.paulmcnett.com/vfp/wine/". I have had
to slightly modify the paths used for the symlinks because the format of
version 9 appears to differ from that of version 8. Or it's because they
didn't lend me the original disks.
Basically an extra directory level called

Visual Fox Pro 6 application
Hi:
I'm trying to run an application that was made with Visual Fox Pro 6.
I tried some different previous versions of Wine like 0.9.3 and 0.9.7.
Sometimes I got error messages like "There's no enough memory to
complete this operation" and "Incompatible integer type..." or
something like that.
Finally I upgraded to 0.9.9 version and I had no previously mentioned

Regarding sshfs and multiplexed connections
Hi,
I have sshfs and ssh to my host setup to use the same socket with ControlMaster setting. Now when I try to scp a file to/from my host I see poor transfer speed. Also, a cp-ing a file to the mounted filesystem results in poor throughput. On the other hand, if I don't use the multiplexing, I get very good throughput. Now, my question is, when I multiplex, does the IPQoS get set wrongly for a

Port forwarding using the client of a multiplexed connection.
I am trying to set up port forwarding using the client of a multiplexed
connection, but the client is dying.
The connection paramaters I am using are as follows:

ControlPath=/var/run/autossh/control-%r@%h-%p.sock -o ConnectionAttempts=3

I have a long list of x-, y- and z-data and try to generate a heatmap.
Obviously there are several data with identical x- and y-values. I get

Multiplexed Ogg and header problems.
I there was a discussion on the vorbis list about Real Audio
SureStream (tm) format. The basic idea was that they put multiple RA
files with different compression levels. So when they have to switch
the bit rate due to bandwidth changes, they choose from the streams
they have. Since peeling is a long time away, it could be implemented
with ogg vorbis multiplexing several times the same

Multiple (multiplexed) simultaneous ssh connections - Cygwin bug?
Hello,
?
I need to make many (>50) ssh connections from linux to cygwin at the same time. Using Windows 2000 Server (OpenSSH_4.3p2, OpenSSL 0.9.8b and updated cygwin) and Linux RHEL4 (OpenSSH_3.9p1, OpenSSL 0.9.7a).
?
It's been difficult to optimize many simultaneous connections. Here were some issues:
1.?????? On Windows XP/Professional, Microsoft intentionally cripples the TCP/IP stack.
