ControlPath and differing ssh options?
If one wants to go this way, then I just discovered Tags
it should work like this (I haven?t tested it and never used tags)
Match tagged FA
ForwardAgent yes
ControlPath ~/.ssh/controlmaster-%r@%h-%p-forwardagent
ControlMaster off
?
and then to have a session with forwarding:
ssh -P FA user at host
But I still think we should be able to setup ssh to just do the right thing if the

Add missing -o options in ssh(1) manual
A few options appear to be missing from the list in ssh's manual.
The one I didn't add is EnableSSHKeysign, whose description implies
it is only effective when placed in the system-wide config file.

encoding/locale problem with ssh -X
Hi all,
I am struggling with remote R sessions and a (I suspect) locale related
encoding problem: Using the X11 device (X11forwarding enabled),
whenever I try to plot something containing umlauts using ggplot2, I am
seeing sth like
,----
| Error in grid.Call(L_stringMetric, as.graphicsAnnot(x$label)) :
| invalid use of -61 < 0 in 'X11_MetricInfo'
`----
Using base graphics is fine

Does ssh need sendfd in pledge() call?
Hi,
I posted this question to the OpenBSD bugs list last week, however
I have had no reply and it was suggested on IRC that I post here
instead. So I must apologise if this is not appropriate.
For a reference here is my previous post:

Patch to add "warn" value to ForwardX11 and ForwardAgent
Because ForwardX11 and ForwardAgent are so useful but introduce risk when
used to a not well-secured server, I added a "warn" value to the ForwardX11
and ForwardAgent options which causes the ssh client to print a big warning
whenever the forwarding is actually used. I plan to make "ForwardX11=warn"
the default in my ssh_config distribution.
I'm not proposing that this

about testing SSH5.6 new feature.
Hi, all
Congratulations for the latest OpenSSH release!
Currently I'm writing the cases for testing the new feature. But this new feature is very complex for me:
Ssh(1) connection multiplexing now supports remote forwarding with dynamic port allocation and can report the allocated port back to the user:
LPORT=`ssh -S muxsocket -R0:localhost:25 -O forward somehost
Can you tell me the way

ControlPath and differing ssh options?
Hello,
Is there a way to use a different ControlPath depending on command line options, or should there be one?
To be specific, I don?t enable ForwardAgent by default for security reasons but only explicitely (-A) when I need to to e.g. copy files between servers. This and other options don?t play well with multiplexing because I usually already have few terminals open to the host.

ControlPath versus ProxyCommand
TL;DR: I expect ProxyCommand to have effect in preference to ControlPath.
I've just tripped over this one. I have an ssh Host (let us call it "MAIN")
with a ControlPath and with ControlMaster=no, from the .ssh/config file.
I also have a shell script whose purpose is to hop to a remote host through a
port forward, which uses the ProxyCommand option like this:
ProxyCommand ssh

Port forwarding using the client of a multiplexed connection.
I am trying to set up port forwarding using the client of a multiplexed
connection, but the client is dying.
The connection paramaters I am using are as follows:
for the master: /usr/bin/ssh -T -n -N -o ControlMaster=yes -o
ControlPath=/var/run/autossh/control-%r@%h-%p.sock -o ConnectionAttempts=3
-o BatchMode=yes -o EscapeChar=none -o ExitOnForwardFailure=yes -o

rsync command for multi files and dirs from remote server
Hi there,
okay so I have a port knocker installed on my remote server so I am
trying to bundle a bunch of directories in a single ssh session that
rsync establishes. so far all the rsync examples I have seen require a
new ssh session for each directory.
is there anyway to get something like this into one line and therefore
one ssh session. Clues on this?

OpenSSH ControlAllowUsers, et al Patch
Attached (and inline) is a patch to add the following config options:
ControlBindMask
ControlAllowUsers
ControlAllowGroups
ControlDenyUsers
ControlDenyGroups
It pulls the peer credential check from client_process_control() in ssh.c,
and expounds upon it in a new function, client_control_grant().
Supplemental groups are not checked in this patch. I didn't feel comfortable
taking a shot

How to use ssh -i with a key from ssh-agent rather than from a file?
Hi,
I have a VM with a git repository whose origin is on
github. I have several keys known to github, so I needed
to set git's core.sshcommand config parameter in the
repository to something like this:
ssh -i ~/.ssh/id_ed25519_github2
But it meant that I needed to copy that key to the VM.
The same key is available via my forwarded ssh-agent
connection. Is it possible to tell ssh to use

Can't get LocalForward to work when using ControlPath
Hello All--
First, thanks for ControlPath/ControlMaster. It's very handy, and
ControlMaster=autoask is just what i wanted!
I'm having difficulty with a common use case, however. I want to
LocalForward on secondary connections using an already-established
ControlPath. From what i can tell, the second ssh connection doesn't
report any errors, but silently ignores the supplied
