Hello,
I'm trying to understand messages from rsynce shown when setting
verbosity level to "vvvv" so I can debug some issues I'm having.
some of the messages I'm interested in understanding:
|[sender] make_file recv_generator [sender] flist start=207990, used=9,
low=0, high=8 [sender] [sender] pushing local filters for recv_file_name
received 12 names [generator]

RE: [R] Mapping actual to expected columns for princomp object
[Re-directing to R-devel, as I think this needs changes to the code.]
Can I suggest a modification to stats:predict.princomp so that it will check
for column (variable) names?
In src/library/stats/R/princomp-add.R, insert the following after line 4:
if (!is.null(cn <- names(object$center))) newdata <- newdata[, cn]
Now Dana's example looks like:
> predict(pca1, frz)

facter''s uniqueid is not unique
I have been storing the output of facter in a database with the
assumption that uniqueid was actually unique, until I found that it is
the same for a handful of my machines.
It appears that uniqueid is set from the output of hostid. I checked
into hostid and it gets its value from gethostid(). The following link,

Standard genres for the "Genre" Field?
It might be a good idea to have a list of standard genres that are
suggested for use in the Genre field, just so that (polished) encoders
can give the user a list to pick from when encoding a song, instead of
making the user come up with one their own. This might seem like an
encoder issue at first, but if two different encoders use two different
names for a specific genre it's going to

Changes to batchSOM from 1.9.1 to 2.0.1
Has the algorithm used by batchSOM for hexagonal topology changed in some
way between R 1.9.1 and 2.0.1? In comparing between the two versions, I
get identical results for rectangular topology, but very different results
for hexagonal topology. (I tried to find release notes for the VR bundle
that might explain the changes, but was unable to locate these anywhere.)
Here's the script I

Mapping actual to expected columns for princomp object
I am working with data sets in which the number and order of columns
may vary, but each column is uniquely identified by its name. E.g.,
one data set might have columns
MW logP Num_Rings Num_H_Donors
while another has columns
Num_Rings Num_Atoms Num_H_Donors logP MW
I would like to be able to perform a principal component analysis (PCA)
on one data set and save the PCA object to

Nullsoft Vorbis Decoder v.1.11a Bug Report
Hi, there.
While waiting for the encoder RC1, I will report some minor problems
I experienced with Peter's Winamp decoder.
First, I am using Nullsoft Vorbis Decoder v.1.11a with Winamp v.2.76
on Windows 98 SE.
1. When the buttons of Playlist Editor are extended, the part extended
in playlist screen seems to be flickering when an Ogg file is being played.
