CentOS 5.5 does not recognise SAS drives with LSI 1068E Controller
I need to do a new CentOS net install on a new server having the Supermicro X7DVL-3 motherboard: http://www.supermicro.com/products/motherboard/xeon1333/5000V/X7DVL-3.cfm Based on that info I assume the board having a "8x SAS Ports via LSI 1068E Controller". We received the server with 3 drives + 1 spare as hw RAID-5 preinstalled. During bootup I see that the drives are initialised

LSI driver and SSD status error in IPMI
Hi to all I have a supermicro server with LSI 3108 with - 2x300GB SAS spin drive in raid1 (virtual drive 0) - 2x300GB SAS spin drive in raid1 (virtual drive 1) - 2x200GB Intel SSD DC S3710 drives configured as JBOD in LSI bios In the IPMI storage health status eveything looks fine until I boot into Centos 7.1 (unfortunatelly I didn't try other OS, but also I'm not interested in other)

[OFFTOPIC] integrated LSI 3008 :: number of hdd support
In my experience the mass market HBAs and RAID cards typically do support only 8 or 16 drives. For the internal variety in a standard rack-mount server you'll usually see either 2 or 4 iPass cables (each of which support 4 drives) connected to the backplane. The marketing material you've referenced has a white lie in it: supporting more than 16 drives on a single card is very likely only

Hardware raid LSI Megaraid not working since Centos 6.6
That's weird, because starting with 6.6 we could finally ditch inserting kmods at installation time, the new kernel in 6.6 supported everything. I believe the model we have (among others) is 9341-4i; I would imagine it's pretty similar with what you have. You should open perhaps a bugzilla issue with redhat about this. SuperMicro with LSI MegaRaid with Centos 6.0
Everyone, I am trying to install a Centos 6.0 system on a SuperMicro with an LSI MegaRaid SCSI 320-2 controller. I had originally tried to install 6.4, but the 6.4 install DVD does not boot with this configuration. See : http://bugs.centos.org/view.php?id=5377 Fortunately, the 6.0 install DVD worked fine until it failed to identify the hard disc controller. I checked the lsi.com site which

LSI MegaRAID system status
Dear list, I have inherited a CentOS-5 box with a LSI Sata Raid controller. It is configured as a RAID5 w/hot-standby. My concern is that I have no present means of determining the RAID status w/o downing the system and going into the bios to get status. If a disk has failed and brought the standby disk online, I would like to know about it, the day it happens by seeing it in syslog or getting

LSI MegaRAID experience...
Hey, anyone using an LSI MegaRAID experienced "disappearing drives"...? We installed 6 new C6 servers, each with a Supermicro SMC2108 (LSI MegaRAID) controllers and 3 PX-128M5Pro SSDs ( RAID1 + hostswap). 2 weeks (and almost no activity on it, since not in production, apart from installation) later, megacli sees (based on the slot numbers): - on one server: only the 2nd disk of the RAID

LSI 2008 SAS driver?
Can anyone tell me which versions of CentOS/kernel support the LSI 2008 SAS chipset, as used in the Supermicro X8DT6-F motherboard? It's billed as a "hardware RAID" controller. Is this real RAID or fake RAID? I will be having two hard drives in a mirrored configuration. I usually use MD software RAID1, mirroring at the partition level. Would this still be best with this chipset, or

CentOS5 - LSI 1064e - SAS Software RAID
Hi, is there a driver disk available for the LSI 1064e SAS controller, operating in software raid mode? This Controler is installed on the Intel SR1500ALSAS for example, and named here Intel Embedded Software RAID II. I found drivers for RHEL4 and SUSE 10, but not for CentOS5? If I disable SAS Software-RAID in BIOS the system finds /dev/sda and /dev/sba and loads the mptsas drivers. But the

Installing CentOS 5.4 64bit on server with LSI SAS 1068E controller.
I'm trying to install CentOS 5.4 on a machine with a LSI SAS 1068E controller. I've googled all over the place and found a few different drivers for RHEL5 for it.. and tried a few of them.. Some will load, some complain that this isn't the correct version.. non of them work when it comes to showing Hard Drivers in the partition manager. The machine is a Supermicro SYS-6015V-M3

CentOS 8 LSI SAS2004 Driver
Hello, I've recently been given domain over a number of supermicro storage servers using Broadcom / LSI SAS2004 PCI-Express Fusion-MPT SAS-2 [Spitfire] (rev 03) to run a bunch of SSDs. I was attempting to do fresh installs of CentOS 8 and have come to find out that RedHat deprecated support for a number of HBAs for 8 including all running the SAS2004 chip. Does anyone know if there is a

Hardware raid LSI Megaraid not working since Centos 6.6
Happy new year ! We have a SuperMicro server with a LSI MegaRAID 9260-4i controller. Since Centos 6.6 update (kernel 2.6.32-504), the controller doesn't initialize at boot. Reverting to kernel 2.6.32-431 allows server to boot fine. The server can't boot due to a bug in LSI megaraid module. Boot log ends by a lot of lines: RESET_GEN2: retry=xxx, hostdiag=a4 I tried Centos 6.6
