[Bug 369] Inconsistant exiit status from scp
http://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=369 ------- Additional Comments From devel at pitux.com 2002-09-10 19:19 ------- I confirm that this bug does exist. It's especially annoying since we use here a lot of scripts which check for the return values of scp to indicate success or failure. In fact it does the good thing on nonexistent files/dirs/etc, but fails in case of auth

scp between two remote hosts
Hi All, I am running openssh (OpenSSH_2.9p1, SSH protocols 1.5/2.0). The scenario is that I have got three machines (A, B and C). The sshd on host A is listensing on port 1234, and the sshd on host B is listensing on port 5678. How can I set up a scp from a third host C so as to copy a file from host A to host B? scp -P 1234 myname at A:/var/tmp/file1 -P 5678 myname at B:/var/tmp/file1 does

scp host1:file1 host2:file2 -> Permission denied??????
Hello, I have a stupid problem with scp and I can't find where it comes from. I am running 3 machines here with RedHat 7.3, RedHat 8 and RedHat 9. The 3 of them have openssh-3.7.1p2 (built from the SRPMS found on the openssh web site). I have though a problem to run a command of the type 'scp host1:file1 host2:file2' (my ssh being correctly setup): [ted at papeete ~]$ scp

scp patch to delete source files after copy
At work we have a large collection of scripts to move log and config files around. These depend on commercial (F-Secure) ssh/scp, as it supports the -u option to delete the source file after (successful) copying. That is the sole reason we can't run openssh on our 150+ unix boxes. I have attached a patch below, which adds the -u option to delete the source file after copying, provided there

Problem with large numbers of bpf devices
A STABLE (not updated since 12/13/02) system shows very strange behavior for devices with a minor mode greater than 256. tcpdump does not work reliably and ls is, uh, "strange", using hex for the minor mode. crw------- 1 root wheel 23, 252 Apr 11 14:29 bpf252 crw------- 1 root wheel 23, 253 Apr 11 14:29 bpf253 crw------- 1 root wheel 23, 254 Apr 11 14:29 bpf254

hung processes in STABLE
For the past three weeks (this is really a guess as I just noticed it last week) I have been seeing many processes started in terminal windows that are no longer in existence. They were started using something like: gnome-terminal -x weather.pl -wr where weather.pl is a simple Perl script that prints a text file and periodically updates it by clearing the screen and re-writing the file to get the

I test network speed from Server A to Server B and found speed much difference: SFTP: 42 MB/Sec SCP: 20 MB/sec SCP command: scp -Crp -o CompressionLevel=1 user1 at ServerB:/TMP/File1 . Anyone know how to improve SCP speed?

ACL: some maybe stupid questions
Hi. I want to use ACL on my RH-9.0 box (x86), so I got ext3 ACL patch from http://acl.bestbits.at/ and tried to apply it to the kernel that ships with RH (2.4.20-8). The patching fails on some vm file so I got a vanila kernel 2.4.20, apply the patch and compile it. This works fine. Also RH-9.0 precompiled Samba 2.2.7 works fine with ACL. I connected to my share with WinXP and do some testing
