F-secure -> Openssh Compatibility (fwd)
Date: Tue, 27 Jun 2000 16:09:43 -0600 (MDT) From: "W. Scott Wilburn" <wilburn at lanl.gov> To: ssh at clinet.fi Subject: F-secure -> Openssh Compatibility We have Macintoshes running Fsecure SSH client 1.0.1 which are unable to connect to a server running Openssh 2.1.1 on Red Hat 6.2. I believe that the problem is a bug with Fsecure, since a 30-day trial version of 1.0.2 works

[ANNOUNCE] xlogo 1.0.5
The xlogo program simply draws the X Window System logo, without the use of any turtles. This release fixes a bug in which you had to hit "q" then "Escape" to exit, and collects several years worth of janitorial maintenance. SSH hanging
Hi, We installed OBSD's ssh package on production and find our batch jobs are hanging on the "ssh" command. The details are included below, for both normal and "hanging" executions. Please let me know if this is a new or existing bug or if you require further info to debug this. The command was executed with the highest debug level (-v -v -v for level 3). This script

minimal X applications needed to export to remote server?
I'm running a piece of network backup software called 'bacula', on a minimal CentOS 6.4 install. I got everything working pretty well, but there's one piece giving me some problem-- a component which gives status info via a GUI. In the past, on previous installations, I could ssh to the bacula server with the -X option, and run the application (called 'bat'), and it would

xeyes kills freenx session
I was trying an assortment of things to get a remote X session working (where I had forgotten to install the xauth package...) and noticed that running xeyes kills my freenx session. This happened whether in the NX/freenx session itself or when run on a remote machine via 'ssh -Y', started from a window in a freenx session. Is that a known problem or do I have something set up wrong?

corrupt files localhost
We recently ran into an issue with scp'ing file only themselves which results in a corrupt file. I understand that this seems logical for files to be currupt when cping them onto themselves, but for some reason fsecure scp does not do this. For reasons outside of my control, we need this to work for staging purposes. Example: scp /home/file localhost:/home/file leave file completely

remote execution
On a related note to my corrupt files issue, it seems that somethign is also different with openssh and fsecure ssh that breaks on of our scripts that does an apache restart or on a remote machine. It just does a restart using red hat package init script and smoetimes completely fails to execute. The problem is that it's only *sometimes*. Fsecure ssh work reliable. Any ideas on this?

Orphaned rsync process on remote machine?
All, Sometimes when I do an rsync, it times out and leaves on orphaned process on the remote machine. I am running rsync over ssh using public key authentication. I synchronize about twenty-five machines, and this problem only appears on one of them. It worked until recently on this machine. I don't know what changed or what is different. I run rsync with a command line like this

Bugs: SSH sometimes failing to report exit-status and more
I have a few bug reports and some comments after upgrading from SSH 1.2.27 to OpenSSH 2.9p2 at a large university. OpenSSH often fail to return the correct exit status from the remote command if small amounts of data are transfered, SSH version is 2 and ssh is run with no STDIN or with the -n option. Below is an example. Authentication method is hostbased and the file sizes are 1KB, 4KB and 8KB:

openssh & kerberos & gssapi
I have configured openssh --with-kerberos5=<path> --with-pam --with-tcp-wrapper=<path>, but when I expire my kerberos password, I do not get a challenge to change my password for kerberos... anyone have any thoughts. I tried modifying the Make file to include -DGSSAPI -DHAVE_GSSAPI_GSSAPI_H -DHAVE_GSSAPI_GSSAPI_GENERIC_H because I noticed that the gssapi options for both

Incoming calls from I-net only for IP-address?
Hi! I'm trying to set up the possibility for users to call my Asterisk from the net. The Asterisk is behind a Intertex IX66 in which a have set "Static domains" so it forward all calls for my hostname and external IP to the * box. when somenone calls at lars@<external-ip> it all works, but if they call lars@<hostnmame> it wont work. At my Asterisk console I get the
