Minor fixes for openssh-SNAP-20001028
I've attached a patch for openssh-SNAP-20001028 which fixes the following two problems: 1) I fixed fixpaths to complain instead of failing silently if it can't write the output file. 2) I changed log-server.c to use av0 as the first argument to openlog(). I also made sure it called openlog() before the TCP wrapper stuff, because libwrap calls syslog() and winds up using the

[PATCH] Add scp -1 and -2 options to OpenSSH-3.0.2p1
Here is a patch to add the missing scp -1 and -2 options to eliminate confusion for users familiar with the commercial version of SSH. Linux libc5 ''bug'' in mkstemp().
Pardon me if this is already known -- Theo, at least, had never heard of a Unix doing this. mkstemp() under Linux claims to conform to BSD4.3, but BSDs (FreeBSD and OpenBSD, at least) seem to have a slightly different behavior. Under Linux, new files are created with mode 0666, while under BSDs new files are created with mode 0600. A user need only set his umask to 0 and he will be able to

ssh hangs or gives Segmentation fault
Details of installation attached. Effect: when I build and test (with full path names) ssh in the openssh... directory, everything works fine. When I "install" it as per attached file into a test-directory and run it from there, there are 2 phenomena: either it just hangs, eating 96% of CPU or it dies with a Segmentation fault (this is what happens most often) Help needed

[patch] one warning, one omission, and two requests; portable CVS
Requests first: after a build, "make" always remakes all the .out files; maybe we could add a few dependencies there? And could we possibly have a few more '@if' lines in the Makefile to quiet it down? These should be obvious: --- #readpass.c Fri Apr 20 13:17:39 2001 +++ readpass.c Fri Apr 20 13:37:26 2001 @@ -43,7 +43,7 @@ #include "ssh.h" char *

[PATCH]: Add tcp_wrappers protection to port forwarding
Hi, attached is a patch by Chris Faylor <cgf at cygnus.com> relative to 2.2.0p1. Description: OpenSSH does not allow port gatewaying by default. This means that only the local host can access forwarded ports. Adding "GatewayPorts yes" to .ssh/config usually does this job. Unfortunately, OpenSSH does not recognize the same hosts.allow/ hosts.deny options as ssh.com's sshd

Problem with UTMP recording
Hello to all! I have problem with OpenSSH 1.2.1pre18 on Linux (kernel 2.2.13, distribution Slackware 4.0). When someone login using ssh, there is no way to see his presentance with some 'standard' tools (finger, who, w, users...). Of course, his proccesses are in ps, and so. I've tried to see /etc/utmp using vi, and there is some entry, but maybe invalid, or something. When I enable

[PATCH] Drop SETGROUPS_NOOP
Hi, the SETGROUPS_NOOP define is used only for Cygwin. But it's also combined with the HAVE_SETGROUPS test in bsd-misc.c. So, since setgroups() exists and is functional in Cygwin, this is actually a noop in the more general sense. The below patch drops that entirely.
