If NA Problem!
Hi All! Please find code and the respective lists below. My problem: I specify the case that lilwin[[p]] is not an NA and want the code found in iwish to be returned ONLY for that case. Why do I get a list of length 2 (and why is NULL the first element)? I understand that the code below is quite senseless. I have run into a problem while working on a large project and wanted to simplify it in

FW: filexfer draft and uid / gid resolution ...
Damien, Thanks for the response. Are you aware of any sftp server products that currently implement the uid / gid resolution or is this new draft just too unrefined / recent. Also, is there a definitive source for these drafts and where might they be published? Up till now I have just been reading the documentation available from www.openssh.org. I hope these questions aren't too

Win32 programs can't find files on FAT32 partitions
I'm having trouble with opening files on fat32 partitions with programs running under wine. The programs report that they can't find the file, even though it exists. I can open files on reiser and iso9660 partitions successfully. The simplest program I could find that exhibits this problem is notepad. If I provide the filename on the command line, notepad.exe tells me it can't find

SFTP: a new command to get filesystem size/free space
I am using sshfs with FUSE to mount a remote directory over ssh/sftp (on linux). It would be nice if df could be able to show the total size/free space of the mounted directory. I am aware that returning size/free space would have some limitations. For example, if a subdir of the mounted directory has another filesystem mounted on the remote server, this can not be represented simply. However,

filexfer draft and uid / gid resolution ...
Sorry if this is not the best place to post this question but I'm not sure who else to ask. After reading through the filexfer draft I am having trouble understanding how a sftp client goes about resolving uid / gid to its text representation. Without handling this translation for the user, how do they know the difference between one uid / gid to the next without opening up a terminal to the

chmod sftp command and setgid/setuid bit
Hi OpenSSH developers, I'm using OpenSSH on a daily basis and I'm very pleased with the work you've done. I am contributing to some Open Source software hosted at Savannah https://savannah.nongnu.org/projects/tsp and we recently hit some sftp unexpected behavior: https://savannah.gnu.org/support/?105838 when using chmod sftp client command it appears that setuid / setgid bits are

[PATCH] Adds support for SSH_FXP_LINK request to sftp-server and sftp client
Dear list, Attached is a patch that adds support for the SSH_FXP_LINK request, as described in draft-ietf-secsh-filexfer-07 onwards, to the sftp server and client. It is for and has been tested on the current portable snapshot but also applies to openbsd CVS. Thanks, -- Peter -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... SFTP and outstanding requests
I've been looking at the SFTP code and the filexfer RFC (and ended up answering my prior questions). I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts as to what might happen if the maximum number of outstanding requests was increased. Currently its set in sftp.c at /* Number of concurrent outstanding requests */ size_t num_requests = 16;

Cluster Size discrepancy between FAT32 and NTFS
Hi, I am not an engineer or linux expert but I have been using syslinux to boot live disk filesets (extracted from iso's) residing on fat32 and NTFS volumes. In FAT32 there has been no problem going with larger cluster sizes up to the nominal maximum of 64K however, with NTFS it has not been possible to exceed the cluster size of 4096. With NTFS formatted using clusters of 8192 or larger,

rsync and caps on FAT32 disk
hello, I plan to use rsync for backing up my data to a FAT32 USB disk. I'm running the last Mandriva linux 2006 and my filesystem is ext8 using UFT-8 charset. I run into a problem with some of my folders that have full caps names on the ext3 disk (/home/foo/BAR/ for example). When rsync creates the folder on the USB disk, it doesn't create /home/foo/BAR/ but /home/foo/bar/. And then

Backing up from fat32 to ext3
Hi, I have a problem backing up my music collection, that is stored on a fat32 formated hard drive to my ext3 formated backup drive (ext3 to ext3 works like a charm :) ). The problem is, that rsync always transfers all of the files and not only the one that were changed/added. I know of the limitations fat32 has but I can't find the correct options to run the backup. Thanks Thomas

Structure of VBR in FAT32?
Sorry for the late response. I am set to digest on this list. One of my chief complaints about mailman (besides non-searchable archives), is that you can either get every message or digest, but not "digest except for threads to which I have responded for which I want every message directly". > The command line installers have the core module and the bootloader file, all embedded

Enhance sftp protocol: get SHA hash of file
Hi, it would be great, if the sftp protocol could be enhanced: get sha (or other hash value) from a file or part of a file. This would make it possible to run a rsync like file transfer on sftp. I would suggest a protocol like this Client sends to Server: get-supported hash-methods returns whitespace seperated list like md5 sha1 sha256 .... get-hash HASH-METHOD FILENAME STARTOFFSET
