[PATCH 1/2] COM32: lua - add syslinux library
Hi, the attached patch adds a new call to lua (patch is against latest lua branch): syslinux.run_command(...) It's just a little glue to call syslinux_run_command() from lua. Other syslinux functions should be easy to add. usage: syslinux.run_command("memdisk initrd=/dos/BIOS/FSC-P7935-108.img raw") Bye, Marcel -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment

Patch: Allow args with spaces
Hi, the first attached patch extends the argument parsing code to allow (shell like) spaces. A config like LABEL BIOSupdate KERNEL dmiselect.c32 APPEND "ESPRIMO P5925" "memdisk initrd=/dos/FSC-E5925.img raw" will result in args[]: ESPRIMO P5925 memdisk initrd=/dos/FSC-E5925.img raw instead of (current code): "ESPRIMO P5925" "memdisk

[PATCH 2/2] COM32: lua - add dmi library
Hi again, this is the second part of the patch extending lua. This time it adds the dmi functions (com32/modules/dmi*) to lua: dmi.supported(): returns true if DMI is supported dmi.gettable(): returns array of key, value pairs containing system info Sorry, but this patch does not apply cleanly if [PATCH 1/2] was applied before. There's just one line to fix in com32/lua/src/linit.c

slot assignment in S4 classes
Hi R friends,   I'm still studying S4 classes and I have a question about slot assignment. Why would I have to use a special setter method [example 2 below] if I can assign data to a slot directly when I call new() [example 1 below]?   ## first way to do it (the idiosyncratic way?) setClass(Class = "TestClass", representation = representation(myDf = "data.frame"))

Question about object permanence/marshalling
Hello,   I am trying to write some code that dumps R objects to the harddisk in a binary format so they can be quickly re-used later. Goal is to save time. The objects may be quite large (e.g. classes for a GUI). I was thinking that save() and load() would be suitable for this (until now I only thought it could be used for 'real' data, e.g. matrices, data.frames etc), but I am hoping any

Pattern matching repeating digits
'lo, all, Is there some (possibly undocumented?) way that I can pattern-match on a specified number of repeating digits? (Something similar to regular expressions' {}) Here's an example: let's say I have a string of things that need to be done for both extensions 233 and 255. I can either... A) Repeat the exact same code for both extensions, like so: exten =>

fix()ing an S4 method
Hi R experts,   The fix() function canbe used to edit normal functions. I would like to know whether it's also possible to use something similar to edit a method of an S4 class. In other words, is there a fix-like function that allows me to edit method definitions without having to go back to the source code?   setGeneric (name="doStuff",def =

[PATCH 1/1] lua: Enabling io.read() in Lua.c32 with some restrictions
From: Hung-chi Lihn <hlihn at google.com> The current Lua.c32 does not enable io.read() due to some missing library functions. However, this strongly limits the Lua script from getting user inputs and reading files (even in pxelinux via TFTP). This patch enables io.read() in Lua.c32 with some restrictions: 1. the io.read("*line") is fully supported. 2. the

[PATCH 1/1] COM32: lua - enable (parts of) liolib
Hi again, the attached patch (re-)enables parts of lua's liolib.c, especially io.write() for formatted output (similar to printf() ): Example: -- define printf() function printf = function(s,...) return io.write(s:format(...)) end -- function printf("Hallo, this is hex %04x\n", 64321) Bye, Marcel -------------- next part -------------- A non-text

Finding callees of a function
I searched the doxygen documentation and could not find a solution to my task: In a ModulePass running at EP_OptimizerLast, if I have a function F like in: bool Foo:runOnModule(Module &M) { LLVMContext &C = M.getContext(); for (auto &F : M) { // magic here if I want to know from which function (callee) each function is called - how can I do this? (so that I e.g. have

How the LLVM handle the debug location information of continue keyword and right brace(loop end location)?
Hi paulr: Thanks for your kindly response. Maybe I don't describe my question cleanly, let me show more information. From my side, I notice that whether we are in the continue keyword mode or we are in the right brace mode, the target of br instruction is the same, i.e. for loop Continue Keyword Mode: ; <label>:6: ; preds = %3 br label

Issues with convolve
We obtained some disturbing results from convolve() (inaccuracies and negative probabilities). We'll try to make the context clear in as few lines as possible... Our function panjer() (code below) basically computes recursively the probability mass function of a compound Poisson distribution. When the Poisson parameter lambda is very large, the starting value of the recursive scheme ---

PXE booting
Hi! I have been using pxelinux with memdisk to boot our workstations with our custom floppy, which is a MSDOS boot disk (actually it is win98) On one of the PC's I'm testing, a Fujitsu-Siemens which has an AMDtek based on-board network card and when PXE is activated, it gets an IP from the DHCP, then it finds the TFTP server, downloads pxelinux.0, executes it which causes the floppy to

Stacked density plots
Hello R-community, I want to generate stacked density plots in lattice. My data consist of a numeric variable ('pid') that is measured in different individuals ('id'), which can be divided in two types ('type') and the measurements were repeated a different time points ('day'). I read in the Lattice book that this can be done using the 'flowViz'

How the LLVM handle the debug location information of continue keyword and right brace(loop end location)?
If we had a very naïve way of generating IR, in the 'continue' case you would actually see TWO branch instructions: one to implement the 'continue' statement, and one as part of the control flow of the 'for' loop. The branch for the 'continue' statement would have the source location of the 'continue' and the branch for the control-flow of the 'for'

building the development version
I'm trying to build the current development version of R on an SGI running IRIX6.5. Everything proceeds merrily until I reach the eda package. This is the error message I get if I cd to the appropriate directory and type 'make' or 'make all.' Does this make sense to anyone? -- Thanks, Debby gmake[3]: Entering directory `/l/fsc/dfs/src/R/src/library/eda' building

RFC: Unify debug and optimized variable locations with llvm.dbg.addr [was: DW_OP_LLVM_memory]
I chatted with Chandler in person and came up with what I think is a much simpler design than my previous design in the thread titled "RFC: Introduce DW_OP_LLVM_memory to describe variables in memory with dbg.value". The crux of the problem in that thread is that we need a representation, particularly in the middle-end, to describe a variables address, at a particular program point.

Issues with Intel HD graphics 4000
Hey, Are there any known issues with the Intel''s integrated HD graphics 4000? I just bought a new laptop and have tried everything I can think of to get Xen to load. After choosing Xen in GRUB, it just boots to a black screen. There is no error message , no dmesg output, nothing. I have no idea what is causing this problem. I''ve gotten Xen to install with no problems on another

LUA scripting in syslinux
Hi, Can we for syslinux 4.05 look to improve the LUA scripting functionality ? Functionality we are looking for is: - accessing filesystem (ext2, fat) - alternatively, access network services (tftp, ftp, http) - creating menu's from LUA - alternatively, generating and reloading syslinux.cfg The use-case would be to create a lua-script that, on boot, can scan eg. a
