X100P in a soekris 4801
Hi All, I have a Soekris 4801 running Asterisk and I tried to add a X100P FXO card only to find that the Soekris will not boot with the card installed. The LEDs flash for a second and then nothing, it does not boot. I've tried 2 different X100p cards, both of which work in a regular desktop system, and still have no luck. I tried a different Soekris 4801 with no luck. I've also tried a

boot Soekris 4801 with EXTLINUX
Hi. I am trying to use EXTLINUX 3.08 to boot a Soekris net4801 from a CompaqFlash card. BIOS reports the CF card as the first master harddisk. During boot/load the loader hangs after this output: EXTLINUX 3.08 2005-05-19 PXELINUX and LILO works fine on the same setup It this a general problem with Soekris/net4801 and EXTLINUX? I tried to encode two minutes from an AVI DV file 720x480: ffmpeg latest release produces a FLV 320x240 25fps 360k video 40k audio in about 45 sec. ffmpeg latest release produces an OGG 320x240 25fps 360k video 40k audio in about 1:20 sec. ffmpeg2theora the same in about 2 minutes or more. The FLV quality it's quite good, some dropped frames maybe. I was wondering to know if ffmpeg team

I'm very happy to announce the first stable version of my little creation: Miruna Asterisk System. This version run only on Soekris 4801 board, but I think if we change kernel run on other boards:) You can download it at: http://sourceforge.net/projects/miruna-asterisk/ In next days I'll setup a wiki and a forum to help/documentation/bugs. Sorry for horrible doc (now), I'm writing

soekris hadware
Hi group, i'm brand new and i would like to ask about soekris hardware. I read along the web but i have some doubts that i think can be solved here. My question are the following: 1) does the Digium TDM400P fit in the soekris box with a 4801 SBC or a bigger box is needed? Any suggestions about where to pick up another box? 2) does the Digium TDM100P (already discontinued) fits fine in a

memdisk and floppy controllers
Hi, just tried memdisk - it works, even with token-ring network cards! I've some problems with dos 6.22 on one machine, though. This one doesn't have a floppy controller (e.g. linux reports that it didn't find any controller). The Dos 6.22 boot disk is loaded, then the boot sector is started and tells me that it can't load the system (German message: 'Kein System oder

Memdisk doesn't work without floppy drive
Hi, I stumbled on a rather odd problem. A brand new HP Compaq dx2200 computer didn't want to boot up pxelinux+memdisk image. The computer just gave "Disk I/O error" and stopped there. Workaround was rather simple... Just attach regular floppy drive to the motherboard and everything started working fine. I tried with older 2.05 (pxelinux+memdisk) and newer 3.31. Both produced

looking for input on broadband router with QoS and VPN support
Hi, We're installing an * box next week (pbxtra from fonality) and I'm trying to come up with a solution for remote users that want a phone in their home. I need VPN and QoS capability, wireless support would be a nice to have. Ethernet handoff is fine, i don't need integrated dsl or cable modem... I've been googling and cruising the list and can find bits and pieces

looking for input on broadband router with QoS andVPN support

We were looking for similar products to suuport our VOIP installs. We just ordered some demo units from Zyxel, we shoul have them later this week. I'll let you know

Laptop+SDMMC+Extlinux+Memdisk+Floppy images=headaches
Hello syslinuxers I'm stuck with a scientific problem which gives me headaches: I have a laptop (Gateway MX3410) which has a SD memory card reader. Recently an interesting thought crossed my mind: why don't I setup a 2GB SD card as a harddrive and put some rescue tools on it. So I dug on the net and I came across the idea of using memdisk to boot floppy images without the need of a

some issues with modules/syslinux
Dear Syslinux bootloader list, I'm running into a few issues concerning Syslinux modules here, hoping you can answer one or more of the following questions: * Where's "ifmemdsk.c32" ? 4.05, 4.06pre1 and latest 4.10pre seem to lack it. Only the "ifmemdsk.c" file, which is likely sourcecode. Not seeing any "ifmemdsk.cbt" legacy comboot module. * Do COM32

unknown boot options on kernel command line.
changing i386 COMMAND_LINE_SIZE to 1024 attached is a simplistic fix to change kernel's command-line size from 256 to 1024, tomatch capability in syslinux 3.08. It seems to work. Is this all there is to it ? One of the reasons I did this was to figure out what extra options are appearing, and why. b4 extending: (the last bit is truncated) Jun 4 06:31:05 truck kernel: Kernel command

Bug-report: Booting DOS images from USB
Hi, I'm doing a small hobby project writing some tools to put DOS boot images and Linux rescue images on a USB stick. For this I have partitioned my USB stick in 2 partitions, one 192MB partition with a VFAT filesystem (for the normal use) and a second partition with an ext3 filesystem. My aim was to provide a graphical menu (grub) to access the different images using memdisk. Since

bad CF disks, etc
hi folks, I have 3 CF disks, 16M, 512M, 4G, only the 512 is working on my soekris 4801 other 2 show: Cannot get disk parameters coming from chain.c32 chain.c32 is not to blame, as bios also gives similar error > boot 80 No Boot device available, enter monitor. all 3 CFs are readable/writable on my desktop after fiddling with various fdisk parameters, I dd'd the image off the 512, and
