I tried to encode two minutes from an AVI DV file 720x480: ffmpeg latest release produces a FLV 320x240 25fps 360k video 40k audio in about 45 sec. ffmpeg latest release produces an OGG 320x240 25fps 360k video 40k audio in about 1:20 sec. ffmpeg2theora the same in about 2 minutes or more. The FLV quality it's quite good, some dropped frames maybe. I was wondering to know if ffmpeg team it's using a "special" theora lib version :-) ok, right question to ask ffmpeg team but, maybe someone have a clue about this. thanks in advance JohnC ____________________________________________________________________________________ Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo! Theora-encoding is just that slow, I think... (internal theora codec) ffmpeg2theora instead uses more time to do the same. So two order of doubt about latest ffmpeg release 1) why ffmpeg->FLV encoding is so quickly compared to ffmpeg->theora 2) why ffmpeg->theora is quite quikcly compared to ffmpeg2theora from J. I think this is not a poor question as time encoding is more than 5-10% do you have a clue ? thanks JC -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
