AW: SYSLINUX 3.08-pre10, including "bigraw" support
hi,
i've tested with 2 version of awdflash and uniflash:
here the results:
it only worked with freedos, not with win98 dos;
with win98 the images were not bootable; but
that does not matter; freedos is ok.
awdflash 8.27.45: flash ok
awdflash 8.27.41 (uses protected mode): flash ok
uniflash 1.40: when starting flashing the program freeze.
awdflash 8.27.45 never worked before so i think this

i understand.
if only dos will be used (without himem, emm386 or something like that)
that the cpu will be leaved in real mode, is that correct?
and e.g. bios update would work...

interesting problem...
Hi,
Thanks a lot for the great tools at syslinux. I have an interesting problem
for which i am trying to use memdisk. I have a cluster of 40 machines (same
hardware config) all needing a bios flash. Rather than doing it manually, i
am trying to use the PXE mode. So i am using memdisk to boot an image of my
bios flash floppy over the network.
my platform configuration is supermicro motherboards

Using a backslash as winbind separator
Completly separated from the other thread I have a minor question
about the "winbind separator" configuration. If I want to use the \
as a separator (and I do), how should this be reflected in smb.conf?
The only thing which came to my mind and worked is quoting the
backslash with another one:
| winbind separator = \\
Only trouble is that testparm(1) returns:
| ERROR: the 'winbind

Updating BIOS with pxe syslinux memdisk & DOS problems
Hi all,
We are hoping to update our BIOSes remotely with pxelinux and memdisk (it is
for a 600 node Beowulf cluster with no floppy access). The DOS floppy loads
and starts, however somehow the flash utility 'phlash.exe' or 'phlash16.exe'
are both unable to load the provided rom image and just stop doing nothing.
It looks like it can't access the rom image somehow, which is

playlist display issues
Hi. I'm running the wonderful icecast 1.3.11 and ices on a RedHat 7.2 box.
Everything seems to work as it should except for various client mp3 players
being able to display the artist/song title information. I've had the same
problem using different streamers so I'm wondering if this is a problem with
the way I've configured icecast? Did I miss something or is this possibly an

Utilizar una application web usando R
Hola Comunidad,
Estoy intentado usar una application web
(http://rsscalculatorforpets.royalcanin-world.com/) con R. La idea es
tener los datos en R y importalos a la applicacion web y bajar los
resultados otra vez a R.
Alguna idea de donde puedo encontrar informacion relacionada con este
tema?
Muchas gracias,

Resuming the discussion of establishing an LLVM code of conduct
I won't disagree about a level of professionalism or what the
community does or doesn't need. However, I'd say that pragmatically if
profanity was an issue in the workplace, for a large development
community, that LKML would have run afoul a long time ago.
My view -
I'm only replying because the reality is that in the workplace
sometimes a full lexicon of words are spoken. I

Screensaver flashing instead of normal function
I rebooted my machine this morning and now instead of running normally, my
GLMatrix screen saver flashes as it repaints the screen, more and more
noticeably as the screen fills up with glyphs. I didn't change ANYTHING and
this was not happening before the boot.
Anyone have any ideas why this might be?
Thanks.

. Re: Java animations, Google Earth flashing with Compiz
Dear Dotan,
The problem of flashing/flickering in 3D apps/ videos
with Xv enabled on account of non-redirection is limited to AIGLX and not an
issue at all with XGL and compiz. fglrx till date has many mem leaks and
crappy 3d performance on linux especially with compiz enabled. If you want
to use these apps with compiz, for now use XGL. Else just disable compiz

Flashing Login Notice To Non Authenticated Users
Greetings,
I''m working with the salted hash login generator. Is there a way to
post a flash message if the user isnt authenticated for a section of my
site and has to login? If so, where should I implement it?
To understand what I am talking about, try and visit a Basecamp page
without being authenticated. It posts a notice flash telling you to
login. If you just directly visit
