SYSLINUX 2.05 released
Greetings, I have released SYSLINUX 2.05. It is almost identical to 2.05-pre4. SYSLINUX 3.01 released
Some people have reported portability problems with SYSLINUX 3.00, mostly due to the use of HDIO_GETGEO_BIG, which is deprecated; additionally, the advanced menu system wouldn't build for everyone due to a spurious reference to %ebp. This release fixes these things, plus makes the extlinux installer default to zipdisk geometry (64 heads, 32 sectors) if it can't guess anything else.

SYSLINUX 3.70-pre7: a very special prerelease
I have produced a first cut of integrating gPXE with PXELINUX. This builds, in addition to the usual pxelinux.0, an image called gpxelinux.0 which includes the gPXE network stack. The result is that one can now download images via (almost) any network protocol supported by gPXE, including http. This lets one do fun things like using a CGI or PHP script for the configuration file. SAN

SYSLINUX 3.71 released
Hello everyone, I have just released SYSLINUX 3.71. This is pretty much a bug fix and hardware support release. The major new *features* are the "initrd" command (syntactic sugar, but it supposedly makes it easier for some tools), the "hide" option to chain.c32, and the ifcpu64.c32 module. As always, special thanks to rPath, Inc., my employer, for the countless hours I

SYSLINUX 4.03 released
It was actually released yesterday, but due to some technical difficulties I didn't get a chance to announce it properly: Syslinux 4.03 is primarily a bug fix release. Changes in 4.03: * Don't hang if no configuration file is found. * Better support for booting from MBRs which don't pass handover information. * EXTLINUX: Try to be smarter about

SYSLINUX 2.20-pre12 released
This release fixes the handling of TIMEOUT in the simple menu system, and adds a NOESCAPE command to disable the "press Shift to get to the command prompt." This *would* be a release candidate, except for the fact that the Win32 SYSLINUX installer still hasn't been ported. I'd really like someone with more Win32 expertise than me to look at that particular one. Thanks,

Syslinux 4.00 released
After 64 prereleases, 626 commits, 52,742 lines of changes, and tons of work by many, many people, Syslinux 4.00 is now officially released. Syslinux 4.00 is the first of a set of major code restructuring releases. The single biggest new features are btrfs and ext4 support, and support for disks larger than 2 TiB. Huge thanks to: - Intel, for sponsoring mine, Alek Du's and Feng Tang's

SYSLINUX 2.20-pre1 available
After a couple of very late nights I actually have a VERY preliminary test of the rewritten SYSLINUX available for preview. However; don't expect it to do anything miraculous yet; the testing it has gotten can best be described as infinitesimal. In theory, though, it should now support EDD and FAT32, as well as FAT filesystems with very large clusters (up to 64K). NOTE: The Win32

SYSLINUX 3.32-pre7 release candidate
I'm going to promote SYSLINUX 3.32-pre7 to release candidate unless someone objects, with the intent of releasing 3.32 immediately after Christmas. Please let me know if there are problems that should make me *not* do so, even if you have previously reported them. -hpa

SYSLINUX 3.32-pre7 release candidate&In-Reply-To=
Hi, First, many thanks for your great work. Don't know if it's the good way to post .... But I want to give you a good information ( and also good for me). I try to make an usb bootable SystemrescueCd (www.sysrescd.org) on a new 2Gb Usb Key (noname, UT163 controller from USBest) and it was impossible with syslinux 3.31 release ( using win32 version syslinux.exe). The syslinux command

Syslinux 3.85-pre7: new tool "sysdump"
So I realized I really need a better way to collect information from problematic machines, so I spent today rewriting the old memdump tool into a new "sysdump" tool. sysdump can write its output either to a serial port using ymodem[1] or over the network using TFTP *if* it was booted from the network, using PXELINUX. John R.: I would obviously like you to try this on the machine that

SYSLINUX 3.30-pre7 released - *release candidate*
Hi all, I've decided to move SYSLINUX 3.30-pre7 to release candidate status (the difference from 3.30-pre6 is pretty much that 3.30-pre7 contains a very simple compiled-in graphical background if the user doesn't specify MENU BACKGROUND.) Please test it out and let me know. Thanks, -hpa

SYSLINUX 1.75-pre7 released - FINAL 1.75-pre
I have just released SYSLINUX 1.75-pre7. Barring any showstopper bugs, this WILL be the final 1.75, so please test if out, and if you find problems speak now or forever hold your pizza. After 1.75 is out I'm going to be spending most of my time on the new 2.00 release. http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/utils/boot/syslinux/Testing/ -hpa
