IBM BladeCenter HS20 blades
Greetings,
We have purchased an IBM BladeCenter and I am in the process of testing
Linux installation on these things (boot off SAN i.e. qla2300 driver,
not using internal drives). My distro of choice is Debian, however,
since I'm really not interested in trying to hand compile all the
drivers, I decided to try CentOS (which I'm so far very impressed with).
On boot, as with the

options to use jumbo frames
We have a cluster (212 nodes) that are on a gig-e network useing jumbo frames
(mtu 6000) To reload a node we have to plug it into a regular 1500 mtu that is
running off a differnt port on the head node to install. Is there a way to
tell in the 'append' line of /pxelinux.cfg/default to have the bcm5700 module
run wiht jumbo frames. this is our append right now

PXEBoot with network options forcing adapter to full duplex.
Hi Brock,
I'm trying set full duplex on a server that is being
pxeboot/provisioned via autoyast. We want to ensure
the duplex is full DURING the autoyast provisioning
itself.
I've played the syslinux configs to specify the
bcm5600 driver, but was having trouble with setting
the network options. I've tryed appending them as
well, but nothing on the internet seems to indicate

Network performance
I'm running RHEL/CentOS 3 (2.4.21-47.ELsmp) with Broadcom NIC and BASP
bonding (bcm5700 v8.1.55) When network traffic is ~12MB/sec (== ~120K
packets/sec) CPU system load is growing up to 50-60%%.
Yes, I know, that small packets (~100 bytes/packet) are not optimal for
network throughput, but in the short-middle term I cannot re-write our
application.
Are there any network driver / kernel

CentOS 3 / tg3 driver on an HS20 Blade
Greetings:
I know it's been mentioned before that the tg3 driver in CentOS 3.4 is
buggy. I had to revert to 3.4 today from 4 (fresh install) and now I
have no link and thus no network. I'm wondering if this is caused by
this bug and what the work-around is.
Thanks.

How to get 3Ware 9500S controller card working in CentOS 3.1?
My goal is to be able to install to the drive array on the 3Ware
controller card. 3Ware does provide a RH WS 3 driver that I've tried to
use; however, the RH Enterprise 3 WS driver doesn't work since that
kernel is older than the CentOS-3.1 install kernel.
I'm trying to create a centOS-3.1 installation driver disk for the 3ware
9500S card; however, I'm not having much luck.

Adding USB support to a given initrd in syslinux
Hello,
I have a live-cd which has a syslinux on it and boots a linux
kernel.
It works ok and boots the kernel ok from a CD drive.
Now,I need to add support for this live-cd so that
it will boot from an external USB cdrom drive.
My bios **DOES** support booting from USB; but when
I try to boot it hangs in the middle while looking for
usb-storage drivers.

Has anyone successfully installed Centos4 on the newer AMD powered Sun

Upgrading PXE initrd.img with new kernel and drivers
Quite simply, HOW? :)
I have the pxeboot initrd.img from the RH 3.0 AS CD's. We need to put a new
cciss.o driver from HP into this initrd.img. Unforunately, the modules in
the pxeboot initrd.img we have are 2.4.21-4 and our new driver is compiled
for 2.4.21-15, so we have to upgrade everything.
I downloaded the kernel-BOOT-2.4.21-15 RPM and installed that, so I have all
those drivers. My

Centos 8 and E1000 intel driver
Folks
I know that support for the network adaptors supported by the 'e1000'
driver have been removed from the base distribution. However, I have
exactly that controller (Broadcom Gigabit Ethernet PCI, not
PCIe). Is there a way for me to add support for that on Centos
8.1? Perhaps a driver in an RPM package?
Thanks

Making Driver Disks
List,
I have attempted to make my own megaraid driver disk for a Dell
PowerEdge 2300. The procedure I'm using is detailed at the end of this
message. In short, I followed samples that I collected after Googling
around. The problem I face is that the CentOS 4 installer can't seem to
mount the driver disk after I have created it. It gives no information
other than, "Cannot

Help: Marvell sk98lin driver missing from Centos 3 PXE initrd.img
I'm new to the lists so sorry about any faux pas I may have made. Also I
apologize for the length, but I wanted to be sure I covered most of the
details.
I'm trying to do a PXE install on an Intel 1435VP2 server machine. The PXE
install has worked on all the older machines in the cluster, so I know PXE
is working. However, these new Intel server machines only support PXE

Centos 4.0 (Final) and Dell 1950 with SAS controller
Hi All,
I have an "appliance" cd which uses CentOS 4.0 (Final) which I am trying to load on a new Dell 1950 server with a SAS driver controller. During the install it fails to find any disks to load to. I got the drivers from Dell and dd the correct one to a floppy, boot from the appliance cd and enter linux dd at the prompt. I load the driver in the install and it still fails to find

Recent SUP.
Installed on Dell PowerEdge 4600.
Getting tons of:
Sep 30 12:23:16 zige /kernel: bge0: gigabit link up
Sep 30 12:23:46 zige last message repeated 98 times
Also getting some TCP retransmits. This causes noticable delays in
pretty much everything I do now. Not a problem prior to the SUP.
I was on 4.8-STABLE before.
When pulling/replacing cables, it went into a mode where it would
