looking for a better ATA
I currently us Linksys/Ciscio, Grandstream and AudioCodes ata's. none of
the three perform well in all enviroments. Between stablity issues, T38 and
DTMF talkoff all three suffer some combination of issues.
I am looking at Patton and Innomedia. Has any one tried either brand and
what is your experience with them. Which would be the base for stability,
audio quality, provisioning, DTMF

Thanks Peter
Dear Peter,
first: thanks for the very prompt reply,
I am not sure I would like to download
400+ meg file on my 56k modem though.
Can that CD be purchased on line?
Maybe some background here is needed:
I am using SuSE Linux 6.4 and dual booting
with windows 95 using LILO. I have found
SuSE to be the easiest to mod so I would
rather work with those files.
There are quite large

Re: isolinux doesn't load kernel
Hello !
I have only 2 questions concerning my problem :
1) is there any limitation on the size of the kernel with isolinux ?
(mine is 1230215 bytes. perhaps it's too big ?)
2) Is isolinux compatible with the use of the -z option of mkisofs,
(transparent iso compression) even if the isolinux directory is not
concerned by the compression ?
That's all.

root device
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
Hi,
I created a bootable linux cd and always had to enter the root device (cd
drive) as kernel parameter at the syslinux prompt. (i.e. linux root=/dev/hdc)
I could not set a fixed root device as this cd should be bootable on other
systems with cd drive as /dev/hdd or something different, too.
So my question is, is there a way of letting syslinux

driver looking for MAXIM MXE II
Hello:
I have a UPS model MXE II MAXIM brand online, 3500VA 2100W.
Connects to the PC by a USB 2.0 port.
I wanted to use nut, but this brand is not on the list of nut drivers.
lsusb returns:

Bus 003 Device 003: ID 06DA: 0201 Phoenixtec Power Co., Ltd
...
I did not find this manufacturer in the driver list.
Anyone know if you can have compatibility with other make and model of UPS.

OT: looking for network performance comparison chart
Hi all,
Does anyone have, or know of a comparison chart of the different
network adapters, i.e. 1GB / 10GB, Infiniband, etc. And if possible
with a few top brand NIC's and switches listed as well.
I would like to see, for example, what the max throughput is of a 1GB
NIC (and this could probably differ from PCI to PCIE-x1 to PCIE-x4),
and 10GBE. Different switches would probably also have

Balancing I/O Load
We are seeing some disturbing (probably due to our ignorance)
behavior from lustre 1.6.3 right now. We have 8 OSSs with 3 OSTs
per OSS (24 physical LUNs). We just created a brand new lustre file
system across this configuration using the default mkfs.lustre
formatting options. We have this file system mounted across 400
clients.
At the moment, we have 63 IOzone threads running

Looking for motherboard/chipset experience, again
What about the Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe motherboard? It has 7 SATA ports,
supports ECC memory, socket AM2, generally looks very attractive for
my home storage server. Except that it, and the nvidia nForce 570-SLI
it''s built on, don''t seem to be on the HCL. I''m hoping that''s just
"yet", not reported yet. Anybody run Solaris on it? Or at least on

iptables command to view just nat/forward info by ip
Hi there... does anyone know of a handy iptables command to look at
existing nat rules?
I tried:
iptables -t nat -L
Which was close, but the problem is that the DNAT and SNAT list the
reverse DNS for the IP's, when I would rather see just pure IP's.
I have been reading the man pages and google looking for an answer as well.
Thanks!

How to update an old unsupported package
Hi all,
I have a package that is specific to a task I was repetitively using a
few years ago.
I now needed to run it again with new data.
However I am told it was built with an older version or R and will not work.
How can I tweak the package so it will run on 11.1?
It was a one-off product and has not been maintained.
Is there a way to "unpackage" it and repackage it to work?

Strange Problem with "proj" and "aov" for split-plot analysis output
I'm using R 1.8.1 on Red Hat Linux 9. I've worked out the linear model
decomposition by hand. Using "aov" with "Error" to fit a split-plot
model, I get very different results depending on whether I use the
"data" argument for "aov" or not. When I use the "data" argument, the
ANOVA table from "summary" is correct but the

transfer the data. The up method

There is no problem to that: Simply configure PXELINUX accordingly. We
at some time did the same using Memdisk and a 250Mb disk image... (lots
of dots, but it worked)
