k-folds cross validation with conditional logistic
--begin inclusion -- I have a matched-case control dataset that I'm using conditional logistic regression (clogit in survival) to analyze. I'm trying to conduct k-folds cross validation on my top models but all of the packages I can find (CVbinary in DAAG, KVX) won't work with clogit models. Is there any easy way to do this in R? -end inclusion -- The clogit funciton is simply a

samba 2.2.7a and multiple logins...
Hello I use a new samba server with LDAP support as PDC for some Windows2000 and WindowsXP machines. All is working nice. The useer can login with a user/password in the domain, we have remote profiles, the user can access the samba shares and print etc. But after some time (< 1 day) we get a smbstatus output like the attached file. Users are connected multiple times with the same share

Winbind fails to refresh Kerberos tickets (3.0.25b - Fedora Core 5) - 2nd Try
This is the second attempt at sending this. Apologies for any duplicates. I've got Winbind up and running to authenticate our users against our AD and to save kerberos tickets. I have used the "winbind refresh tickets = yes" setting expecting this to renew these kerberos tickets before they expire. This does not appear to work. Gnome will pop up a dialog box saying that the

All users are in /etc/passwd and in and /etc/samba.d/smbpassw on ther LINUX-Server. There are no problems with this and are all happy. BUT : Sometimes (!!!) SAMBA wants to get a password when users want to print. My users typed the

print matrix content on plot
Hi, I saved as a matrix a summary of a PCA analysis and I've used barplot to plot the PCA variances. I would like to print on the same graphic the values of my matrix m1 - in other words the summary of my PCA analysis. I can do it very painstaking with text for each row and make sure that everything aligns and so on but i wonder if there is a better method than that. My summary follows:

two easy questions...
Hi all. 1) If I have a dataframe with variable names as follow: PC1 PC2 ... PCn and I want to pass only some of them to a function, e.g. glm(resp~from PC1 to PC10, PC15, etc.,...) is there a faster way than simply writing each variable name in the formula? 2) Again, I have a dataframe, say ali.df, with tha following variables: ali1, ali2, ...ali78 I want to sum, for example, ali1+al2+ali7+f rom

I have a file server running with Samba over Debian Sarge 3.1 R1. This File server store MDB and XLS files. Could anybody give me an optimal setup for my samba server (smb.conf). Actually, the performance is very poor. I really apreciate your help as soon as possible. My supervisor wants to change the operating system (Linux) for Windows 2003 Server. I do not want to do that. Samba over Debian Sarge 3.1 R1. This File server store MDBand XLS files.
Daniel, I am running Debian-sarge as well. I have one samba server that serves as my PDC and one samba server that is a domain member server. Now, I'm a newbie, still learning, and I probably wouldn't know if the performance on our servers is good or not. So, please take this for what it is worth (probably not much). I have only 7-10 XP clients that access these servers, and folks

To work around this I had to go into Windows Explorer and change the folder options from "Enable Web Contents in Folders" to "Use Windows Classic Folders". This way, Windows Media player won't load the file when you click on it. Just trying to save

Rebuild of kernel 2.6.9-67.0.20.EL failure
Hello list. I'm trying to rebuild the 2.6.9.67.0.20.EL kernel, but it fails even without modifications. How did I try it? Created a (non-root) build environment (not a mock ) Installed the kernel.scr.rpm and did a rpmbuild -ba --target=`uname -m` kernel-2.6.spec 2> prep-err.log | tee prep-out.log The build failed at the end: Processing files: kernel-xenU-devel-2.6.9-67.0.20.EL Checking
