Hi Duncan The difference is that in your call to loadNamespace, the versionCheck list has 3 components (name, op and version), whereas the documentation only mentions 2 (op and version). loadNamespace 'works' for me provided I add a third component to the list (even a nonsense one). I've been trying out the protectbase plugin for yum, and haven't yet determined the best way to selectively update a package. E.g. I'd like to mark the base repo as protected, but get the latest firefox from the centosplus repo. What's the correct incantation for this?

I'm going to rebuild my workstation because maintaining it is now a nightmare after using "recommended" repo's that now conflict with each other. Just did an update with yum, and got this error when running the transaction check. Transaction Check Error: package freetype-2.1.9-1.2.2.el4.rf (which is newer than freetype-2.1.9-1.rhel4.4) is already installed Yum then quit. What do I need to do to fix this error?
