I guess my CentOS is screwed up because that function doesn't work. Only way
to resize it was to go into the menu areas and set it there.

Screen resolution in StarCraft
I have installed StarCraft succesfully, but the screen
resolution is only 600x480, how do I change it to 1024x768?
I have tried to write:
wine --desktop 1024x768 starcraft.exe
but that makes the area available 1024x768 inside a 600x480
resolution!
Sincerely
Jesper

WOW
I couldn't help but take notice at some of the responses that were coming in
from when I was posting questions due to my ignorance of Linux. Some people
were quick to help, some advanced users I am sure ignored me because im not
worth their time, and then some other users tried to help but was unable to
dumb their speech down to newb levels. However I am thankful that there is

Backing up CentOS
Can anyone suggest a good open source/free backup software that works on
CentOS? I was reading through the manuals on how to back things up and it
said do 1 of 2 things. Buy a 3rd party software packages or make one from
source. Well I have no clue how to do the 2nd option and I don't want to
spend any money so I figured I would as you gurus. BTW I am newb so easier
the software the better.

How to find your IP Address
Ok guys a quick newb question. I have been reading up on the Red Hat
Enterprise 4 for dummies book along with installing and playing with the
configurations of Cent OS 4. I have yet been able to find any information on
how to find out what your IP address is. I have it set to use DHCP from our
Windows server and I looked under the network card configuration settings
but can not find any command or

IAX crackilng
I apologize about doubling these up, I forgot the subject!

are consistently 32ms with random ping responses of 295ms -408ms about
every 30 secs to a minute, I have jitter buffer enabled. The connection
goes like this... Mitel SIP phone to Asterisk A, IAX trunked to Asterisk

Permissions
I am trying to figure out how permissions work in Linux. In windows if I
want someone to have access to something you put their name in a group then
give that group access to that folder. However things can get difficult when
you have an office with a folder structure like this:
Taxoffice--->Names---> Private. Everyone in the group would need access to
the Taxoffice folder and names folder

Cisco 7960 lockups - any experiences?
This is almost certainly not an Asterisk-specific posting, but due to
my inability to find a VoIP-focused Cisco list, I'll post here in the
hopes of finding a more diverse user community.
I am using a Cisco 7960 (version 6.0 SIP firmware) with Asterisk, and
have been experiencing situations where the phone locks up. "Locks
up" means that the bottom part of the screen

GNOME, numeric keypad & commas
Hi,
Our local school has a 100 % CentOS network on servers and desktops.
Until recently, we were using a highly customized Xfce desktop
environment. Last week I decided to migrate all desktops from Xfce to
GNOME, which went quite well. Now I have to sand down some rough edges.
The secretary complained that she can't use the numeric keypad as
before. She's using LibreOffice Calc a lot,

I just downloaded samba-1.9.18p3.tar.gz and compiled it on a DEC 3000/300

The compiler gives the following warning:

ACL -Manage with Windows security tab?
Hi Guys,
I am attempting to configure AC:L's I have enabled it in smb.conf for my
share and remounted my fs with acl enabled. However if I attempt to edit
security permissions for the group "Domain Users" it creates two more
group "CREATOR GROUP" and "CREATOR OWNER" and refreshes the security

kvm & keypad on Centos 7.5
Everyone,
I have a lab computer I am using to test kvm. It was difficult to
install with NetworkManager running. After I turned nm off I got the
bridge to work and to stay in place. NetworkManager kept chaning
things.
I have several things I would like to learn and to tweak with KVM and
virtal machines.
The first small tweak is how to turn on the keypad on a keyboard. I
have tried two

Telephony keypad
Does anybody know if there are any external telephone-keypads for sale
anywhere? (containing the keys 0-9, *, # and onhook/offhook would do)
I am looking for a keypad to control a softphone and would prefer the
controls to be in the physical world instead of as a window.
Sincerely,
Markus Hakansson

[patch] Updated patch for pkcs#11 smartcard readers that have a protected PIN path
Some smartcard readers have keypad to enter the PIN securely (i.e. such that it cannot be intercepted by a rogue (ssh) binary.
PKCS#11 allows for enforcing this in hardware. Below patch allows for SSH to make use of this; against head/master as of today.
