Sieve envelope :detail "to" "extention" does not deliver to fileinto destination
Dear Listmember.
I resend this with different Subject so that the spamfilter does not
drop the mail, I hope ;-)
I try to migrate from my current courier-mta setup fo postfix dovecot
setup.
I use the following scirpt to filter to the destination mailbox.
### /var/vmail/none.at/al/.dovecot.sieve

Can't achieve alias working with SQL
Hello,
On a fresh install of Jessie, I achieve to make dovecot/postfix working
with SQL, but I still can't send email to alias for wich one I get :
"Unknown user"
After debug enable in dovecot, I see that the user_query SQL , just
query for the "users" table and not the "forward" table so the final
alias user is not known.
But when I check postfix for

Deliver, sendmail & envelope From_
Sorry, couldn't find this in the archives.
Under freebsd 4.x, the native mail.local that sendmail uses by
default writes From_ lines that include the origin address. This
is very readily parsable and handy for quick greps in mboxes. But
deliver defaults it to MAILER-DAEMON. I see you can specify the
envelope From_ with "-f", but I'm not sure how that's useful.

Problem with Sieve Vacation
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Hi,
dovecot version 1.2.12 on freebsd 7.0 with dovecot-sieve-1.2+0.1.17
I have users in ldap and aliases in /etc/aliases and i use postfix.
There is an alias testuser at hostname for tuser at hostname. When tuser uses
sieve vacation and uses the :addresses options with his email address
(tuser at hostname), the response is also sent, if a mail to

Dovecot LMTP does not pass envelope recipient +detail to sieve
I found this[1] thread that describes the same problem with dovecot-LDA,
but the solution (add X-Original-To: header) has no effect with LMTP.
My sendmail LMTP configuration:
FEATURE(`local_lmtp',`[IPC]',`FILE /var/run/dovecot/lmtp')
Sendmail's address test indicates that sendmail is providing user+detail
to LMTP (see below). Except for this problem, dovecot, LMTP, and sieve

Hi there,
I changed postfix to pass email to spamassassin, and then deliver to
dovecot LDA. It fails to deliver.
The current entry in master.cf now reads:

procmail deliver and envelope-to

Hello,
first of all, please reply private as I am not subscribed to the list.
But if this question takes to much traffic I can subscribe.
My problem is that I have to use procmail (as it can call external
programs) which finally calls deliver. My main rules are sieve and they
work find except that I cannot use subaddress matching in envelope to

deliver: select destination folder
Hello,
I wanted a commandline switch within deliver to select the destination
folder within an IMAP account, so I added the -f switch, heres the diff,
the implementation is only "proof of concept" hehe, I didnt checked if
theres any security riscs in doing this. Could we add something like this
to dovecot?

Deliver limit based of number of destination recipients and size of mails, any option to do that?
I have a mail server with postfix, dovecot (1.2.15) and deliver lda
(dovecot) with 350 users.
I have the problem that in this christmas the employees are sending some
big files (mainly powerpoints files) to a lot of recipients, because of
that the server get a lot of charge (is a Xeon quad core 5405 with 4GB
of Ram), i have four disks in Raid 5 configuration (HP E200 controller,
not very fast)

deliver+sieve: Destination address (-a) parsing changes
When I upgraded my old, long running dovecot 1.1 to newer dovecot-1.2.4 + doevecot-sieve-
0.1.12 I observed a change in destination address (-a) parsing.
Old behaviour:
When Timo introduced this feature
(http://www.dovecot.org/list/dovecot/2007-September/025813.html)
it was possible to hand over only the detail part. In my sendmail configuration I used "-a +$h",

Embeding a path in address extensions
I generate bcc backups with the pattern
backups+DATE.user.domain.tld at myBackupDomain.tld
(for example, backups+20170908.kremels.kreme.com at myBackupDomain.tld)
This puts mail in ?/.20170908.kremels.kreme.com/new
What I would like to do is get the expansion to generate the following path
?/.20170908/.kremels.kreme.com/new
Of course the date changes everyday, but it will always be numeric

APC AP9617 SNMP returns strange errors
Hi,
we do have APC Smart-UPS each with AP9617 and latest FW.
As we found out we are not able to shutdown the UPS via SNMP - neither immediately nor delayed. And we cannot set values, but we can read them correctly. So it seems as we are not able to write to the UPS and get back strange errors.

sieve sending vacation message from vmail@ns1.domain.tld
Could you send your configuration (output from `dovecot -n`)?
Also, please provide an example scenario; i.e., for one problematic
delivery provide:
- The values of the variables substituted below.
- The incoming e-mail message.
- The Sieve script (or at least that vacation command).
Regards,
Stephan.

Sieve vacation address problem
Hi,
it seams I have a problem with the vacation script.
The problem is that the vacation answers to a address that is not listed
in the sieve script. I checked the postfix master.conf which delivers to
lda correct parameter.
In the logfile you can see that that office at example.com received a
message that get delivered to user at example.com (with the sievescipt) and

deliver rewrites envelop-sender
Hello,
we are currently using sendmail, procmail, uwimap and qpopper. We are
planing to replace uwimap and qpopper with dovecot. Which seems to be a
very good idea :-)
But: Sendmail and Procmail will not be replaced.
Now I've realized that deliver rewrites existing "From <....> ..."
header lines to ">From <...> ..." and adds it's own "From

sieve vacation alias handling problem
Hi,
I am using Dovecot LDA as LMTP renders envelope extension unusable.
The problem I have noticed is that when user has multiple aliases sieve
responds to all of them, not only to :addresses specified.
>From testing it seems that :addresses only adds addresses to the list of
"known" emails to check against. It is not limiting it.
As I understand, sieve should check if To: header
