Please share some RHCE/RHCT learning material
Hi all,
will anyone please share me some material on RHCE/RHCT, I am fighting for
the Quality Engineer in RedHat, and that may help a lot in the coming
written exam.
Many thanks and Merry Christmas!
Cheers, Xiaobo

[OT] Linux/CentOS Volunteer or PT Work
Hi All,
I'm pretty new to this list and to CentOS, so forgive me if this kind of
thing is shunned. I have really enjoyed following some threads on this list
and learning what everyone out there is doing with the OS. I actually got
started on CentOS when researching how to study for the RHCE without forking
out big cash for Red Hat licenses, a donation is coming soon.
Anyway, I'm

OT: redhat training and RHES6
Greetings.
I am planning on getting my RHCE in the near future. I thinking I
should wait until 6 comes out before proceeding. That being said, I
don't want to wait past the end of this year.
That being said, do you all have any information about how long it takes
for their training platform to catch up to their release? Which is to
say, if RHES 6 is released on day 1, at what point

RHCE Training
I am possibly going to be sent for my RHCE training.
Looking at https://www.redhat.com/courses/rh300_rhce_rapid_track_course_and_rhce_exam/details/
I am thinking the concepts do not look difficult at all, having a manual and instructor makes this look fairly easy actually.
The only thing that looks important to take outside of this would be rh253 if I wasn't interested in taking the

exam
Dear CentOS users,
is it possible to prepare for a certified (big North American Linux
vendor) engineer exam with a CentOS install ?
I have heard that the test contains questions on specific GUIs, are
they included in the CentOS distribution?

RHCE
I realize this is a CentOS mailing list but because it is based directly on RHEL, I would assume there are a few individuals who frequent the list that have passed the RHCE exam. I plan on taking the exam this March and was wondering if there are any tips you RHCEs out there could provide that may help me.
Thanks!

reading .odf spreadsheet into R
I have searched the archives and I did not find the answer to my
question. Is there a way to read in a .odf spreadsheet without
modification to a .csv file. I am analyzing my classes scores on
their first exam, and would like to read the grade book in without
converting it to .csv.
thanks

RHEL 5.3 Beta released, beta-testers needed
Hi all,
The CentOS community is pretty limited in what we can do to the core
distribution. Since our mantra is "aiming to be 100% compatible with Red
Hat Enterprise Linux" we cannot fix bugs or improve the CentOS core
without waiting for Red Hat to make those modifications first. We have
limited leverage and a 6-month release cycle against us.
But that is not the complete truth,

Kernel independent OCFS2 packages for RHEL, Scientific Linux and CentOS
Hi,
I would like to announce a set of OCFS2 kABI-tracking kernel module

packages have been introduced into the ELRepo testing repository
(http://elrepo.org/).
You can find these packages at:

CentOS 7
Greetings all, just wondering if anyone knows if / when there will be
training materials for RHEL 7 (CEntOS7) available? The last book I was
able to purchase was the study guide for the RHSCA / RHCE exam, (by
Michal Jang!) Does anyone know if / when the next versions will be out?
I'd like to go through it all with the latest and not "last years model"
under my belt!
Thanks!

Syslinux keyboard mappings
Hi,
I finally want to end the fights we have had in the past with keyboard
mappings. I already curse the person who is responsible for this keyboard
mess (and even more the persons who could have create a 'detect keyboard'
kind of functionality in modern PCs :))
But the general problem is this, BIOSes are US qwerty, Belgium uses
be-latin1 (azerty with lots of custom keys). And to

CentOS mailing list probe message (fwd)
With the latest message I send to the CentOS list I got this strange
'probe' message. The included bounce example has nothing to do with my
email-adres, but rather with someone subscribed to the list.
So it seems that somehow the mailinglist manager is sending bounces to the
wrong email-adres. Or I do not understand the 'probe' message (and the
included bounce message) at all.

Sarah: RHSA tracking tool
Hi,
I'm working on a RHSA tracking tool, named Sarah. It allows you to build a
local RHSA database of different RHEL releases and then allows you to
verify systems for compliance (and lists applicable RHSA and required
packages).
But before releasing my prototype, I would like to know what requirements
people have. How they would be using such a tool and what for reports they

Since the RHCE exam is based on RHEL, that would be the best OS to work
with. If you
