Hello
When I use my iphone to access my IMAP folders I can see ALL folders
in my userland and not only those listed in .subscriptions file ...
Anyone has an explaination of this ?
Might be a security/confidentiality hole isn't it ?

IPhone wont delete IMAP messages from dovecot mailbox
Hello!
I've got dovecot running with postfix. Have virtual users under vmail
folder.
When I connect with outlook, I can read, delete messages.
When I sign on with webmail, also can delete messages,
Mutt is working as well on the mail server, can delete messages.
Once the message is deleted it moves to the trash. Works as it
supposed to.
But on Iphone, when I add a mail user, got the

iPhone leaves imap process active
A quick search of the archives didn't reveal a fix, so I thought I'd ask the list. I was running Dovecot 2.0.2, and noticed a lot of CPU being used up. I discovered a number of IMAP processes burning a lot of cycles, when no connections should have been active. I traced this to the iPhone leaving the IMAP connection apparently active.
I just upgraded to Dovecot 2.0.7, and I'm still

dovecot (2.2.13) panic on imap-login from iphone se
Hi to all,
we have trouble with one user account, when using imap-login with iphone
se. The user can login and use the account from webmail (roundcube) and
from thunderbird without any errors and without any restrictions.
But if we use the account on an iphone se and try to use imap based
emails, there comes the following error (look at the end of the mail).
I have no idea, what for an error it

viewing a subset of folders in dumb IMAP clients
I have several dozen IMAP folders (stored as Maildir++). When I'm on
the go with my iPhone, I only want to see a few of them.
My naive solution that didn't work:
1) create an alternate login that yields my existing permissions and
mail folder, but stores its own version of metadata
2) configure the iPhone to use that login
3) subscribe to the folders I want
I test-drove the

Slightly OT: iPhone & IMAP IDLE
Hi all,
Does anybody know whether iPhone is supposed to be able to do IMAP IDLE? I know it does "Push" but that seems to be using Apple's Mobile Me and Exchange.
Cheers,
Sabahattin

relay access denied problem thru iphone imap auth
I'm using postfix smtpd / dovecot. Running imaps, imap, pop3s, pop3. I
have a ssl certificate setup. Everything works fine via IMAP except
sending to an email from outside the network to a recipient outside the
network.
The problem is when someone (and this is being tested thru the iphone
email client configured to use imap) logs in, they can read messages but
cannot send to an address

Asterisk Voicemail for iPhone
Heres a little teaser for those of you with iPhones
Asterisk Voicemail for iPhone allows you to check your voicemail
messages on your house or business line from your iPhone. You can
think of it as "Visual Voicemail", but for your Asterisk PBX numbers
instead of your AT&T cell number. The technology behind it is Asterisk
(The Open-Source PBX), with iUI, Joe Hewitt's UI interface

Theora (and ogg) on iPhone
I haven't been able to find anything about a port of the ogg/theora decoder
to the iPhone. I'm somewhat amazed it hasn't been done, really, given the
campaign against the iPhone in part for "not supporting open source codecs".
So, is there an unspoken ban on this, am I searching in the wrong places or
am I just the only one who'd really really like to be able to stream

SPEEX on iPhone ?
Hello Ashhar,
thanks for your reply, but i'm a bit surprised.
1- Does it mean that it is possible to make a Real Time Encoding/Decoding
with SPEEX on iPhone ?
2- What parameters have been used (QUALITY, SAMPLING_RATE, BITRATE) ? and
what kind of CPU load do they measure for that ?
Thanks by advance,
Vincent

Ogg Vorbis on iPhone?
Hi All, I've been doing a lot of cross platform work lately, getting Ogg Vorbis to run on Mac and PC, but haven't been able to find a readily available version of libogg and libvorbis for iPhone. I see a macosx target in the SVN trunk but not an iphone one. I found these links with some background:

Theora on iPhone
I posted a while back "complaining" about lack of a theora player on the
iPhone. Porting the code for libtheora (and libogg/libvorbis) was
(relatively) painless, and appears to be working. I'm up against a tougher
challenge now... rendering the video!
I tried using the brand-new SOC-funded SDL port to iphone to get the
"player_example.c" code up and running, but ran into

iPhone patches question
When the Tuner2 iPhone Player hits the Apple iTunes Apps Store, this
should solve everyone's player problem:
http://www.indexcom.com/iphone.html
There is a lot of information on this page. It tells an interesting
story about audio quality.
This player is not an Orban project.

IMAP IDLE - iPhone?
Hi All,
Probably a very common question now days.
I'd like to configure our iPhones at work to go directly to my dovecot
server (currently dovecot-2.0.9-2.el6_1.1.x86_64). Using the IMAP IDLE
(push email) protocol.
Has anyone successfully deployed this? If yes, did you have to use an
app from the Apple store? For me the IMAP process works, however it's
clearly not notifying the client

it''s probably the iPhone.
I mean, would you *really* want your phone to be connected to the internet

Theora & Vorbis Finally On iPhone, iPod Touch
Not as good as built-in support but at least people with a newer device have a
way to put VLC on their iPhones, etc. without jailbreaking. (Sorry original
iPhone owners.)
