verbose imap logging
Implements more verbose imap logging (when client exits). Similar to existing logging in POP3. Due to the nature of imap and my incomplete understanding (of the dovecot code) the session statistics reported have varying accuracy. Much better than nothing IMO. A couple of dovecot issues I've noted recently...
Timo et al., I haven't been reading the list in a while, but wanted to report back that we've transitioned to dovecot 1.0.15 and things look to be working very nicely. The platform is Solaris "Nevada" running on x86. I have been saving up a couple of issues to bring to your attention. On our server, we gather all core files, and so we get a good taste of the different things

beta8: cores on corrupted index file
Timo, I saw a couple of these cores over the weekend. The syslog says: May 21 19:04:48 emerald dovecot: [ID 107833 mail.error] IMAP(user): Corrupted index cache file /home/students/s/user/.imap/sent-mail-apr-2004/dovecot.index.cache: indexid changed With a resulting core file from imap at this time. I also discovered a remaining lock file on the person's imap file: -rw------- 1 user

1.0.beta8 released
Next release will probably be called 1.0.rc1. People just don't seem to like the beta name in the version number. :) Also I think we're nearing the final v1.0. * Fixed a security hole with mbox: "1 LIST .. *" command could list all directories and files under the mbox root directory, so if your mails were stored in eg. /var/mail/%u/ directory, the command would list

configure change for 1.0.beta8
Hi, I'm trying to compile dovecot under Solaris 10 with native Mysql support. Couple changes are needed before configure can detect and compile mysql support. Native Solaris Mysql is installed under /usr/sfw directory. Configure can't find libraries and when these are found -R runtime path is needed for linking. Also if library name is given before library path it can't find it.

Samba4 beta8: samba daemon doesn' t start nmbd daemon !
Hi anybody. I use Samba4 beta8 as AD DC. But also I need fully working file server with showing it at neighborhood. In Samba4 beta6 I run samba as main daemon, then nmbd that server could be showed at neighborhood. But in beta8 doc is written: "When running an AD DC, you only need to run 'samba' (not nmbd/smbd/winbind), as the required services are co-coordinated by this master

beta8 + mbox + Thunderbird
Hi all, I'm still using beta8 (on FreeBSD 5.4-RELEASE). Recently I put a co-worker who's using Thunderbird (1.5.0.4) on it and he seemed to have lost some messages (which were delivered on the spool since seen on procmail logfile). I switched him on another server to play safe and tried to test it myself but failed to reproduce the issue. I myself use mutt on a daily basis with no
