coefficients regression
Hi,
I would like to calculate a polynomial regression with R, but I don't get the same coefficients as when using SPSS. Is there a way to transform the coefficients?
I use:
regression <- lm (biomass ~ poly (temperature, 2))
Thank you,

modify header in deliver
hi,
is it possible to modify the mail-header (subject) within the deliver process (maybe by a lda-plugin)? I have tried to write a simple plugin for this, but I cannot find a way to modify the mail befor writing it to the mailbox.

fitting truncated normal distribution
Hello,
I am a new user of R and found the function dtnorm() in the package msm.
My problem now is, that it is not possible for me to get the mean and sd out of a sample when I want a left-truncated normal distribution starting at "0".
fitdistr(x,dtnorm, start=list(mean=0, sd=1))
returns the error message
"Fehler in "[<-"(`*tmp*`, x >= lower & x <= upper,

Codebook decoding help
Dear Sir or Maddam,
we're in the progress of developing a multimedia framework for Java. We started with programming a Vorbis (ogg) codec and demultiplexer and have still some problems with this.
The problem occured when trying to read the setup header of a vorbis file.
After a certain time we have to decode the codebook_lengths but this does not work.
We followed the instructions in the

FC3 or FC1 (or something else?)
Hi
I wish to install asterisk 1.2 (the latest tar.gz from the site ....not the
CVS version) on an HP box with a TE110P (single port E1/T1)
My question is which OS would be preferred in this configuration Fedora Core
1 or Fedora Core 3, and are there any install guides out there that are
recent enough for asterisk 1.2
I am also open to suggestions for other Operating Systems if any of you feel

wifi cluelessness
The nice folks at work have just provided me with a new, really spiffy,
ThinkPad. So, I''m trying to get wireless working under CentOS4 and I''m
having trouble. First, I can''t seem to find any rpms to just install
(this would be really nice). And, second, when I try to build it from the
src.rpm that I pulled from the atrpms repository with "rpmbuild

Dovecot response to "FETCH" command
Hi folks.
I just converted my site from UW+mbox to dovecot+maildir (stable-test59,
2005/02/25). For the most part, everything is great. The server seems
faster and less memory intense than the UW server (this part has made me
very happy). And it's definitely more user friendly to me than Courier.
There is one thing however...
A few of my users are using the web based mail reader

possible bug with mail->get_header and caching?
I don't know if this is intended or not, but here it comes.
I have
* that copy plugin I was working on
* dovecot 1.0-test59
* thunderbird test client
My copy plugin looks for the X-DSPAM-Signature header line, and reports
it to syslog as such:
imap: we have a signature: "X-DSPAM-Signature: <sig>"
where <sig> is replaced by what is found in the header line. This only

Dovecot causing hanging on random folders...
I've been using the 1.0 test series (currently 1.0test 67 and before
that 1.0-test59) and both exhibited this issue.. I use Thunderbird and
will open one or two of my nested Maildir folders via imap and find that
it goes out there trying to open the folder (according to the messages
that Thunderbird claims) and it never comes back.. I've attached to the

Using the latest dovecot-stable (20050213) with pine, I get an empty

happen with the first dovecot-stable (20050131). A partial connection log is

corrupted inboxes
Hi all,
Two users on our system have recently had trouble reading their
inbox, and it seems to be a result of their inbox getting corrupted.
In the most recent case, their Mailbox file (in /home/eric/Mailbox
in this case), has the following as the first line:
cnw.igmg--
Here's a piece of the logs below... if you look for "eric", there's

My config files are here:

Again, if I try to ssh in as a user that exists only as a local account on the remote
host, I am rejected. User msh is -not- a AD account and only exists on the
