sig11 with test36/37 on some emails
Sometimes I'll get an email from a luser which will cause the POP3 daemon to sig11. The email "appears" to be legal. The sig11s only happen on specific emails, and once I remove the emails from the server, the rest can be downloaded. I gzipped the email, and its at http://theapt.org/bogusemail.gz. While this example is international spam, the sig11s happen with real emails too.

syslinux/isolinux capabilities
I'm wondering if it's possible to use isolinux on a bootable CDR to boot an ISO9660 disk image off of the CDR's filesystem. I'm trying to make a multi-boot CD which is capable of booting both floppy images and smaller ISO9660 images (such as the debian netinst or DSL - damnsmall linux), and I am wondering if isolinux is capable of doing this (or something similar to this -

PHPonRails ?
I''ve have a very tight schedule project that MUST (not my option), be developed in PHP. Is there a Rails based framework for this platform? I like the Rails way of things, but in this case, I cannot choose the programming language, so please don''t offend me :-) Thanks in advance, Alessandro _______________________________________________ Rails mailing list

Help with predict.lm
Hi I have measured the UV absorbance (abs) of 10 solutions of a substance at known concentrations (conc) and have used a linear model to plot a calibration graph with confidence limits. I now want to predict the concentration of solutions with UV absorbance results given in the new.abs data.frame, however predict.lm only appears to work for new "conc" variables not new "abs"

dvd dma problems
I have a couple of DVD drives (one drive, one burner) that used to play DVDs quite fine from 5.3 to somewhere in the 6.x branch. Nowadays I have to send them to PIO4 to play DVDs, because they'll just throw DMA not aligned errors around in UDMA33 or WDMA2 mode. Should someone be interested in this I'm willing to supply all necessary information, such as the exact drives, firmware

Weird internaldate behavior with 1.0-test80 and mbox folder
Has anyone else encountered weird date behavior with mbox-style folders? I am nearly ready to bite the bullet and convert my UW imap hierarchy (which is in mbx format) to Dovecot. In so doing, I need to convert each UW-specific mbx-format mailboxes to the more portable mbox format, which Dovecot can read. (This is done with the 'mbxcvt' utility that's part of UW.) I am then

Booting firmware harddisk image with memdisk fails
Hi, I once again have a problem with memdisk failing to boot a harddisk image to update my Thinkpad X200s firmware. I extracted the harddisk image from the eltorito type 4 ISO using the isobar tool. Then I added memdisk using this image as initrd to my grub, rebooted and it boots into PC DOS and then freezes (ctrl-alt-del still works to reboot the system). Inside Qemu however it works fine

(Lattice) How to improve the readability of a bwplot, i.e. separating groups somehow
Hi all, first of all thanks for the answer to my previous question on lattice some time ago. In particular to Patrick Connolly for advices on netiquette (I hope this time I'm doing right....) and to Deepayan Sarkar fro the help on lattice. Now, my nowaday problem. Please consider the following mydf<-cbind.data.frame( RESPONSE = c(rnorm(9,rep(2:4,each=3),10),

Variables and greek letters in a plot title
Hello This is a problem I encountered repeatedly and I found no answer that made me really happy. I hope it is not too trivial. I would like to give the concentration of a substance in a plot title: 5 ug/ml substance the '5' would be a variable and the ug should be micrograms (with greek letter mu). It is the mu that causes the problems for me. I failed using various combinations of

Public folders / namespace documentation
Does Dovecot support public folders? I thought it may do via namespaces, but having searched the Wiki and the documentation, I can't find how namespaces are defined. I've probably not looked in the right place - any pointers? Thanks, Keith

Barplot: Vertical bars with long labels
Dear List, I need a barplot with vertical bars. Each bar should have a label. The problem is, that the labels are too long, so they overlap, or only every seccond label is displayed in the output. Here is a little syntax: dd <- c(100,110,90,105,95) barplot(dd,names.arg=c('Conduct Disorders','Attention Deficit', 'Eating Disorders',

Subject tag is gone
I've actually been thinking about it almost since the beginning. It's just been annoying waste of space on my screen. And more importantly nowadays it's also breaking DKIM/DMARC signatures. So if somebody still uses Subject-based filtering it's about time to switch to List-ID header based filtering now. Another thing I'm wondering about is if I should allow text/html parts,

speed?
dear R wizards: while extolling the virtues of R, one of my young econometrics colleagues told me that he still wants to run ox because [a] his code is written in it (good reason); [b] because ox seems to be faster than R in most benchmarks (huh?). this got me to wonder. language speed can't matter much, so it must be mostly the underlying matrix algebra by now. I presume that nowadays

Re: ATI Graphics card
Regarding the topic of the thread I think they're not that different from each other nowadays. I've been using an ATi graphics card for over a year and it's running pretty well. NVIDIA graphics cards are better. But AMD graphics cards nowadays aren't as bad as they sound. They're nearly equal.

1.0 alpha3 released
I'm a bit too busy nowadays because of school so I haven't had time to look at everyone's bug reports and some other mails. They're still marked as unread in my mailbox, so hopefully I'll get to them soon. And I don't mind you resend them if I don't answer in a few weeks :) Changes: - Fixed maildir syncing errors about wrong UIDs - Maildir was re-read all the time,
