slot assignment in S4 classes
Hi R friends,   I'm still studying S4 classes and I have a question about slot assignment. Why would I have to use a special setter method [example 2 below] if I can assign data to a slot directly when I call new() [example 1 below]?   ## first way to do it (the idiosyncratic way?) setClass(Class = "TestClass", representation = representation(myDf = "data.frame"))

fix()ing an S4 method
Hi R experts,   The fix() function canbe used to edit normal functions. I would like to know whether it's also possible to use something similar to edit a method of an S4 class. In other words, is there a fix-like function that allows me to edit method definitions without having to go back to the source code?   setGeneric (name="doStuff",def =

[PATCH v2 4/5] appliance: Added filesystem_walk command
The filesystem_walk command is the appliance's counterpart of the daemon's internal_filesystem_walk command. It writes the daemon's command output on a temporary file and parses it, deserialising the XDR formatted tsk_dirent structs. It returns to the caller the list of tsk_dirent structs generated by the internal_filesystem_walk command. Signed-off-by: Matteo Cafasso <noxdafox

[PATCH 0/2] added filesystem_walk API
The filesystem_walk API parses the FS internals of a partition and returns a list of all the files and directories contained within. It list deleted files and directories as well. For each node, it reports its relative path, its inode and its allocation status. This is the end user API for inspecting a disk partition content. The command can handle filenames with special characters. Example

Re: [PATCH v2 4/5] appliance: Added filesystem_walk command
Hi, some of the comments for patch #3 apply also for this one, namely: - wrapping of commit message - indentation of forward declarations - usage of XDR deserialization from guestfs_protocol.h - On Sunday 03 April 2016 16:30:49 Matteo Cafasso wrote: > The filesystem_walk command is the appliance's > counterpart of the daemon's > internal_filesystem_walk command. > > It

What is the fastest way to see what are in an RData file?
Currently, I load the RData file then ls() and str(). But loading the file takes too long if the file is big. Most of the time, I only interested what the variables are in the the file and the attributes of the variables (like if it is a data.frame, matrix, what are the colnames/rownames, etc.) I'm wondering if there is any facility in R to help me avoid loading the whole file.

Pattern matching repeating digits
'lo, all, Is there some (possibly undocumented?) way that I can pattern-match on a specified number of repeating digits? (Something similar to regular expressions' {}) Here's an example: let's say I have a string of things that need to be done for both extensions 233 and 255. I can either... A) Repeat the exact same code for both extensions, like so: exten =>

Rails Edge ActiveSupport::TimeWithZone and Marshalled objects
Hello all, I''m trying to use the new ActiveSupport::TimeWithZone from Edge. The problem seems to be that I have a several-action process to create a Booking. This Booking is stored in the session (session[:booking] = @booking) throughout the actions until the last action is reached and the record is saved to the DB. Using TimeWithZone seems to be producing errors when trying to

How the LLVM handle the debug location information of continue keyword and right brace(loop end location)?
If we had a very naïve way of generating IR, in the 'continue' case you would actually see TWO branch instructions: one to implement the 'continue' statement, and one as part of the control flow of the 'for' loop. The branch for the 'continue' statement would have the source location of the 'continue' and the branch for the control-flow of the 'for'

transfers with zap channel
Ok, I've seen discussion before on doing transfers (attended and unattended), there seems to be much confusion over it. As things sit, I've been trying (unsuccessfully) to do transfers with a zap channel (analog phone attached to TDM400). I have no idea what I'm missing. My current understanding is that I need to have transfer=yes in zapata.conf, do a flash hook, dial the 2nd

building libvirt-0.8.3 for windows ( with dlls )
Hi, I'm trying to compile the latest libvirt (0.8.3 ) on windows and the configure fails to find XDR lib. I installed the xdr-4.0-mingw2 and configure complains the XDR library doesn't exist. Should I get another XDR lib? The command I run: $ ./configure --with-esx --without-sasl --without-avahi --without-polkit --without-python --without-xen --without-qemu --without-lxc

Conditional for XDR code left out in saveload.c (PR#478)
Full_Name: Thomas Hoffmann Version: 1.0.0 OS: OS/2 Warp 4.0 FP 11 Submission from: (NULL) (141.30.125.20) I autoconfigured/configured the src'es w/o having XDR (#undef HAVE_RPC_XDR_H). In saveload.c , at the beginning of the file the XDR code is enclosed by matching #ifdefs. But in the NEW_SAVE_FORMAT section, there are no #ifdefs around the XDR code. Does this imply that using the new

RFC: Unify debug and optimized variable locations with llvm.dbg.addr [was: DW_OP_LLVM_memory]
I chatted with Chandler in person and came up with what I think is a much simpler design than my previous design in the thread titled "RFC: Introduce DW_OP_LLVM_memory to describe variables in memory with dbg.value". The crux of the problem in that thread is that we need a representation, particularly in the middle-end, to describe a variables address, at a particular program point.
