Help with reshape/reshape2 needed
The reason it doesn't work easily with reshape/reshape2 is that the
order of the rows is not determined. Your answer could be

How to create interrupted boxplot
Hello,
I have created two boxplots with following R code. There is one outlier in
B group.
The outlier is 33. But the all other data are between 0 to 4.
How can I skip y-axis around 5 to 25, and expand 0-4 for this case. Also I
want keep the outlier in my boxplot.
I want my boxplot look like the second one, keep the outlier, and make an
interrupt of y-axis from 5 to 25.
Thanks,
Jianghong

lattice custom axis function -- right side margins
Dear R help list,
I have a plot with two different vertical scales that I want to display
on either side of the plot. It's quite similar to the
Fahrenheit-Centigrade example in the examples section of the
documentation for axis.default.
The right-side axis is clipped off, though, and I haven't been able to
figure out anything with viewport() and clipping or trellis.par.set to

Rich text aera?
Hi all,
I am trying to add an article editing interface to my future webstore,
and I am wondering what to use for text formatting.
I would like to avoid using HTML, and calibre-bbcode just won''t work
(see my last post).
Is there some kind of library for live text formatting right in the
browser? I would just need bold, italics, size and ul lists... Do you
know of a good solution?

Calculating a daily average
I have a set of data with 12 readings for temperature per day, with
180 days. I want to find the average temperature of each day. I am
able to do this one by one, but with that many days to calculate the
average for, it will get very long. I'm sure there is a faster way to
do this, I just don't know how. What i have so far is:
av1 <- subset(ER9r, Day == 98, select = c

Mixed Effects Model on Within-Subjects Design
Dear R Experts,
I am attempting to run a mixed effects model on a within-subjects repeated
measures design, but I am unsure if I am doing it properly. I was hoping
that someone would be able to offer some guidance.
There are 5 independent variables (subject, condition, difficulty,
repetition) and 1 dependent measure (value). Condition and difficulty are
fixed effects and have 3 levels each

Extract time from irregular date and time data records
Hello,
I am having a problem making use of some data outputted from an
instrument in a somewhat weird format. The instrument outputs two
columns - one called JulianDay.Hour and one called Minutes.Seconds. I
would like to convert these columns into a single column with a time.
So I was using substr() and paste to extract that info. This works
fine for the JulianDay.Hour column as there are always

Temperature Prediction Model
Greetings!
As part of my research project I am using R to study temperature data
collected by a network. Each node (observation point) records temperature of
its surroundings throughout the day and generates a dataset. Using the
recorded datasets for the past 7 days I need to build a prediction model for
each node that would enable it to check the observed data against the
predicted data. How can

apcsmart and dual environmental sensors
Hi,
We have a several AP9612TH environmental cards (they have 2 probe
connectors) inserted into our APC UPS devices which monitor temperature
and humidity. The apcsmart nut module knows how to query the
ambient.temperature and ambient.humidity using the 't' and 'h' commands
of the UPS (refer to apcsmart.h). The results of the 't' and 'h'
commands are from probe 1.

amdtemp does not find my CPU.

I try to use amdtemp(4) to read the temperature of this CPU but it
doesnt seem to detect the CPU. The manual states that it should support
K8-class.

Determining frequency and period of a wave
Hello! I'm collecting data on a refrigerator that I'm using to cure
meat. Specifically I am collection humidity and temperature readings.
The temperature readings look sinusoidal (due to the refrigerator
turning on and off).
I'd like to calculate the frequency and period of the wave so that I can
determine if modifications I make to the equipment are increasing or
decreasing

So I have a set of data, hourly temperature, where each temperature is set

the decimal value corresponds to an the hour of the day.
I have several thousand of these readings over several months. What I would

SMP motherboard and temperature monitoring with /dev/io
Hello, I have an SMP motherboard (Gigabyte GA-7DPXDW+) and I'm trying to monitor the temperature of the processor. The chipset for I/O control is Winbond W83627HF. When using any program for monitoring temperatures, I only get the temperature reading for the second processor. How do I get readings for both processors or only the first one ? TIA

Liebert GXT2 NUT driver - patch, multiple fixes
based on r2432, i took this with "svn diff --revision HEAD liebert-esp2.c"
fixes:
1) new way to initialize model, firmware etc. variables, the strok way
failed because some vars had spaces. (e.g. model "Liebert NX")
2) new multipliers for: frequency, nominal power. I get correct readings
now, before I had 500 Hz, and 200VA and now it's ok for me. Test with your
models.
3)
