On Vista my R installation is in C:\Program Files\R\R-2.6.0 and there is a library here: %userprofile%\Documents\R\win-library\2.6 If I use the GUI Packages menu to update my library it works ok _except_ for any packages such as lattice and the VR bundle that come with R.
