TukeyHSD no longer working with aov output?
I can prove I've done this before, but I recently installed Rexcel (and it was easiest to reinstall R and some other bits to make it work) and now its no longer working. Before I would do an ANOVA and a tukey post-hoc like this: >data1.aov=aov(result~factor1*factor2, data=data1) then... >TukeyHSD(summary(data1.aov)) and it would give me a nice tukey table of all the pairwise

Partial correlation test
Dear all, I'm writing my manuscript to publish after analysis my final data with ANOVA, ANCOVA, MANCOVA. In a section of my result, I did correlation of my data (2 categirical factors with 2 levels: Quantity & Quality; 2 dependent var: Irid.area & Casa.PC1, and 1 co-var: SL). But as some traits (here Irid.area) are significantly influenced by the covariate (standard length, SL), I

Lme does not work without a random effect (UNCLASSIFIED)
Classification: UNCLASSIFIED Caveats: NONE Dear R users, I'm interested in finding a random effect of the Block in the data shown below, but 'lme' does not work without the random effect. I'm not sure how to group the data without continuous value which is shown in the error message at the bottom line. If I use 'aov' with Error(Block), is there a test method comparing

How to get the test statistic corresponding to the p-value in mtable?
Dear R-Users, I want to use mtable from package "memisc" to produce Latex-style estimation output. However, mtable() only gives me a p-value and not the corresponding test-statistic. Does anyone know how to extract it, either from a glm/anova object or mtable? Here is a short example: # Run this #################### install.packages("memisc") library(memisc) set.seed(1)

Str info. Thanks for helping
It looks from str(SA) that Response IPS1 is a data.frame of class "anova", which probably cannot be coerced to vector. Maybe you can use unlist() instead of as.vector() Or something like SA[["Response IPS1"]]["as.factor(WSD)",] ## to select the first row only, even maybe with unlist() Without a better REPRODUCIBLE example, I cannot tell more (maybe some others

reading tables into R. .
Hi, The file I am reading is a text file, whose contents are a matrix that has 15 rows and 58 columns. The first row has column names, and the first column has row names, so the format is correct as far as using read.table is concerned. The other values in the table are all float values (numeric). So when I read in the file using data1 <- read.table("HAL001_HAL0015_Signals.txt"), it

TRUNCATED error with data frame

Is there a fast way to do several hundred thousand ANOVA tests?
Dear R users, I have a matrix a and a classification vector b such that > str(a) num [1:50, 1:800000] and > str(b) Factor w/ 3 levels "cond1","cond2","cond3" I'd like to do an anova on all 800000 columns and record the F statistic for each test; I currently do this using f.stat.vec <- numeric(length(a[1,]) for (i in 1:length(a[1,]) { f.test.frame

Help for Power analysis

anova vs aov commands for anova with repeated measures
Dear all, I need to understand a thing in the beheaviour of the two functions aov and anova in the following case involving an analysis of ANOVA with repeated measures: If I use the folowing command I don´t get any problem: >aov1 = aov(response ~ stimulus*condition + Error(subject/(stimulus*condition)), >data=scrd) > summary(aov1) Instead if I try to fit the same model for the

model simplification in repeated anova
Hi, I've done a repeated ANOVA looking as follows: model<-aov(y~a*b*c+Error(d)) Now I want to get rid of some or all of the interactions. But neither AIC nor anova work. What is the appropriate function to test my model?

ANOVA in Randomized-complete blocks design
Dear all, I am trying to repeat an example from Sokal and Rohlfs "Biometry" -- Box 11.4, example of a randomized-complete-blocks experiment. The data is fairly simple: series genotype weight 1 pp 0.958 1 pb 0.985 1 bb 0.925 2 pp 0.971 2 pb 1.051 2 bb 0.952 3 pp 0.927 3 pb 0.891 3 bb 0.892 4

Help with ANOVA in R
Hi I am attempting Anova analysis to compare results from four groups (Samp1-4) which are lists of intensities from the experiment. I am doing this by first creating a structured list of the data and then conducting the ANOVA (Script provided below). Im an R beginner so am not sure if I am using this correctly. Two major questions I have are: 1) Is using the code (zzz.aov <- aov(Intensity ~

Difference between two-way ANOVA and (two-way) ANCOVA
Hi! as my subject says I am struggling with the different of a two-way ANOVA and a (two-way) ANCOVA. I found the following examples from this webpage: http://www.statmethods.net/stats/anova.html # One Way Anova (Completely Randomized Design) fit <- aov(y ~ A, data=mydataframe) # Randomized Block Design (B is the blocking factor) fit <- aov(y ~ A + B, data=mydataframe) # Two Way

Random effects ANOVA?
Hi all -- So I have a very simple dataset, which consists of 60 subjects, who watched one of three videos, drank one of two drinks, and completed a task. The response variable is the time to complete the task. The ANOVA command is simple enough: anova(aov(time ~ drink * video, data = df)); However, the videos were randomly selected; I need to use the random effects model for them. So

What is the difference between anova {stats} and aov?
There are anova {stats} and aov in R. It seems that anova takes an object returned by a model fitting function. But I don't see any examples for anova. Can somebody give me a simple example on anova? What is the difference between anova and aov?

[package-car:Anova] extracting residuals from Anova for Type II/III Repeated Measures ?
Hello dear R members. I have been learning the Anova syntax in order to perform an SS type III Anova with repeated measures designs (thank you Prof. John Fox!) And another question came up: where/what are the (between/within) residuals for my model? ############ Play code: phase <- factor(rep(c("pretest", "posttest", "followup"), c(5, 5, 5)),
