R user interface
Hi R,
I have a an excel file with a lot of data. I need to create an user
interface in R, which has one single screen. It needs to contain a right
pane containing the click buttons for different countries (say). If the
user clicks a country, then a chart needs to be created for that
country, taking the data from Excel. Is this possible and which package
helps me in doing this? Many thanks in

Using tcltk or other graphical widgets to view zoo time series objects
Dear all,
I am looking at the R-help entry below:
http://finzi.psych.upenn.edu/R/Rhelp02/archive/26640.html
I have a more complicatedt problem. I have a zoo time series frame with
100+ sequences.
I want to cycle through them back and forth and compare them to the 1st
column at any time.
I need also a button to click when I need the viewed-selected sequence

reading version 9 SAS datasets in R
Hi,
I am trying to read a SAS version 9.1.3 SAS dataset into R (to preserve
the SAS labels), but am unable to do so (I have read in a CSV version).
I first created a transport file using the SAS code:
libname ces2 'D:\CES Analysis\Data';
filename transp 'D:\CES Analysis\Data\fadata.xpt';
/* create a transport file - R cannot read file created by proc cport */

Boost Protein Expression by Codon Optimization
Dear Colleague,
Happy New Year!
As we know, codon preference among different species could be dramatically different. To enhance the expression level of a foreign protein in a particular expression system (E.coli, Yeast, Insect, or Mammalian cell), it is very important to adjust the codon frequency of the foreign protein to match that of the host expression system. One classic example is GFP

Cluster analysis of protein time series
Hello!!!
I have a question about clustering. I'll present my problem first.
I have a simulation of a protein trayectory (a file with a time series
of protein 3D-coordinates), from it I can calculate the Root Mean
Square desviation (RMSD) beetween any pair of structures in the
trayectory, which is a rough idea of 3D similarity beetween them. If
for every conformation (trayectory frame) I

Best HMM package to generate random (protein) sequences?
Dear All,
I would like to generate random protein sequences using a HMM model.
Has anybody done that before, or would you have any idea which package
is likely to be best for that?
The important facts are that the HMM will be fitted on ~3 million
sequential observations, with 20 different states (one for each amino
acid). I guess that 2-5 hidden states should be enough, and an order
of 3 would

GO & Protein Complex Analysis for Homo sapiens
Dear All,
I need to fetch GO ontologies for Homo sapiens with their mappings to
corresponding Uniprot identifiers. I would be using this information to
compare result from a clustering algorithm with existing protein complexes.
This would be a test to check how the clustering algorithm accurately
captures GO terms with respect to the known protein complexes. Can anyone
suggest a simple workflow

R GUI
I am really new with R Graphical user interfacefunctions. I am developing a
software package to calculate pKa (biochemistry) but I want to make it look
aesthetically pleasing and make it user friendly. I have heard that R has
some GUI (Graphical user interface) and you can do some really cool stuff
out there. What are the limitations and what are some resources for help. I
have found a couple of

Problem Writeing a pipe using R (stdin is consumed)
Hi everybody,
I a, trying to use R as a pipe like this:
cat inputData | R --silent RCommandFile >outputData
The RCommandFile would contain something like readLines(stdin()).
I have tryed various things and none did work cleanly.
One possible solution is to use the pipe() function inside R and to pass in the "cat inputData" however this is not very convenient
since I would like to

can I automate this part, in other word to pass for example Village when I
am running the script.
One more thing the script is the TimeSeriesAnalysis {ndvits}.
Thanks in advance for any help or suggestion.

Fwd: Re: "Graphics history" in UNIX
Many thanks again for your code.
Actually, manual typing of the function names to record or review plots
is not a practical solution for me.
I taught it would be a quick task to program Function keys for this purpose.
I uselessly spent time messing with a "<home>.initrc " file.
The only solution I found is to write the functions names, via Bash
menu
