nforce 430 MCP61 chipset on centos 4.4
Hello All.
I've got an Asus board with a non-operational nic and sound chip on Centos 4.4.
Anyone know if this is possible to get working on 4.4? I've downloaded 5.0
but it looks like others still have issues* with this chipset.
Thanks.

Problem Installing On ASUS P5VD2-VM Motherboard
Hi All
I was wondering if anyone has installed CentOS 4.x on the following
configuration? Our specs for the server are ASUS P5VD2-VM Motherboard, Intel
Core2Duo processor, 2 x 250GB Seagate SATA HDD with 2GB RAM. I am currently
trying to install SME Server 7.1 on this configuration. The SME forum has
recommended I post here as well to see if anybody can help.
The message I am getting is:

SMP kernel on old Asus CUV4X-DLS motherboard
Just wondering if anybody managed to get SMP kernel to boot properly on
an old Asus CUV4X-DLS motherboard (older dual P-III)?
I had this problem only with this specific motherboard and 2.6 kernels.
First time couple of years ago. And again today (I've just installed
CentOS4 on a box that used to run RH7.3). Previously those machines
were running Red Hat 7.3 (2.4 kernels), and with 2.4

machine with 2 ethernet cards e1000 and forcedeth
I am using centos 5 x86_64 AMD64 X2 4200+. I am current on yum update.
My machine has two ethernet cards. e1000 (eth0) and forcedeth (eth1)

alias eth1 forcedeth
sometimes on boot the forcedeth driver thinks it is eth0:

network connectivity lost after reboot/upgrade
I upgraded one of my old machines running 5.x to the latest kernel (from
308.24.1 to 348.1.1).
After rebooting network connectivity was gone. I rebooted with the old
kernel, I also tried the one before it (308.20.1) still no luck. So I
assume it's got nothing to do with the kernel or even CentOS. But a
hardware failure seems also unlikely, see below.
ethtool shows the link as up and if I

modern motherboard for centos-5
I'm considering upgrading, and am trying to choose a modern motherboard
that nevertheless fully works with Centos5/RHEL5.
Though I'm partial to AMD processors, and would like to use one in my
new configuration, that's not a requirement, if the most appropriate
board happens to be intel-compatible.
However, given the way ASUS is dumping LInux and crawling more firmly

Centos 4.4 install on ASUS A8V-VM does not find SATA drives
Yes, I know someone last week asked a similar question (Problem with ASUS
P5VD2-X X SATA II) but the only answer I saw on that thread was the
equivalent of "I've heard it's bad so I won't do it." Unfortunately, that
doesn't help me much.
The BIOS does indeed recognise my two SATA hard drives, and I've got the
BIOS set to "IDE" (which disables

asus-wmi.ko for Asus G73Sw running CentOS 6.2
Hi List,
Just loaded our favorite OS onto my new ASUS laptop.
Practically everything worked out of the box - I used the live DVD to
check things out and installed from there.
I have followed

Problems loading CentOS 4.4 on ASUS M2N-MX mobo
I have a brand new ASUS MB model M2N-MX which is giving me issues when
installing Centos 4.4 64 bit
I initially had problems with finding the SATA drives but I resolved that
issue by simply selecting the NVIDIA SATA (sata_nv)driver from the list of
drivers during the initial install.
The install seemed to go fine after that as the installer uses the Generic
VESA video driver during the install,

ASUS M2V mobo issues
We have 4 systems supported by ASUS M2V mobos with AMD2 cpus on board. No
we haven't gotten CentOS of any flavor to work yet. Yes, we did load Fedora
Core 6 and it worked, with respect to the SATA driver only. There is a
RAID, Audio and LAN driver for Linux that comes on the M2V mobo CD. The
audio driver installs and works fine on FC6. I've read many of the messages

Intel VT-d and Asus Desktop/Workstation mainboards, eg. Asus P9X79 WS
Good day to you
Im a casual Xen user and am also using I/O Virtualization.
I had always trouble getting DMAR tables (and IOMMU) recognized with
Asus Mainboards, despite the fact that I always used this boards a lot.
Since the Nehalem Intel architecture, I looked into Intel Mainboards
due the fact that this seems to work out with Xen, Linux and VT-d.
My request is, that someone who tried Asus

CentOS 4.4 32 bits not recognizing disks
Hi,
I have to install this server with an Intel motherboard ASUS, model
P5VDC-MX.
It has a VIA hardware RAID controller model VT-8251.
The two hard drives are SATA (don't know if II) and are Maxtor STM380211AS.
Problem is that CentOS installation doesn't recognize any hard drives at
all.
The BIOS setup doesn't have an option to turn off SATA.
Any ideas ?
Thanks in advance.

[Asus Eeebox] USB FXO adapter?
Hello
I'm contemplating building an Asterisk voice server out of the compact
Asus EeeBox:
http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=24&l2=165
But they're so compact, they don't have a PCI slot to handle an analog
phone line. I'd like to minimize footpring and cables: Besides
analog/SIP boxes like Linksys (extra cables + transformer), does
someone know of a USB adapter that is
