Prime Numbers Pkgs
> Looking for a recommended package that handles prime number computations.
I'm not sure whether this would be helpful to you, but Sage
(http://www.sagemath.org) has excellent number theory support and
several ways to interface with R (which is included in the
distribution of Sage). I use it myself to access several R packages I
need to do analysis on data I produce in Sage/Python, and

How to get R to compile with PNG support
Dear R devel list,
Good morning; I'm with the Sage (http://www.sagemath.org) project.
(Some of you might have seen my talk on this at last summer's useR
conference).
We have some rudimentary support for using R graphics in various
cases, which has proved useful to many of our users who want to go
back and forth between R and other capabilities within Sage.
Unfortunately, the way we

In the Sage command line, you can type
sage: r?
to get some very basic info, and
sage: r.[tab]
to get various commands. This part of the interface still needs some

strings plots
Hi all !
I'm new in this list and newbie about R
I'm trying to use R scripts (as in the attached file) for creating some distributions plots of data retrieved by a workflow(with Rserve, to be precise).
I was able to do it (even if not in a beatiful way, I have to improve it especially about labels and coordinates) with number inputs like :

Pinging a netbios name
Does know anybody a small, little, beatiful (and cheap) software
replacement of PING utility for pingins machines with netbios name and with
ip number and without DNS entry?
Smbclient and nmblookup work fine, but I thinking in a utilitity like PING
of windows95. This ping is capable to work in WINS (NETBIOS) and ip and
name translation.
The ping of linux dont work in this way. Samba work fine.

Hi Abhijit
I can't answer your questions but I would be very interested in a fully
working binary of Ices2 for Win32 once it's ready. Thanks for the
effort.

Help deciphering segfault in make check
Dear R Help,
I work with the Sage project, and we are trying to improve the ability
to use R through Sage. Most things work, but make check seems to
cause problems on certain platforms, and now that we want to upgrade
to 2.10.1 I thought we should ask for help!
R builds just fine on both Mac and Linux, but some things in make
check seem to break on certain Linux boxes that don't on Mac or

libshout2, ices0-3 and ices2 on Win32. Announce
Well...since this is a port to Win32 patches may not
make sense. Pathnames to the required libraries are
relative, but hardcoded from the point of reference.
Without that, it will not build.
Since there are lot more files (related to the IDE as
well as some project build settings which link to
libraries in Win32) which have no close equivalents in
the non-Win32 world. Hence can't do patches.

Setting UP An IP Printer
I have asked this question twice now, but I'm giving in one last chance.
I'm new to the Linux/Samba world and would like to move my print servers
over to Samba. Before I can do that, I need to do some testing. Before I
can do any testing, I need to figure out how to install an IP printer in
Linux.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

ADS users authentication problem where win2k and pre-win2k names of user differ
Hello,
I am new to the list and this is my first posting to the list.
I have an ADS running on Win2k3 in Native Mode. I have a user created in
ADS. While creating the user I have specified the "Win2K name of user" as
testbug and "Pre-Win2k Name of user" is bugtest. Essentially they are not
same and do differ.
I have a samba 3.0.25d running on Fedora Core 7 which has joined

Is there any way to talk to a preferred PDC IP address?
Hello,
I am trying to join a domain. Using net host lookup I've found the IP
Address of LDAP and KDC server as well.
Now my question is is it possible to join a particular PDC ( even though
there are multiple PDC's in case of AD or PDC/BDC in case of NT-4 )
It seems that -I option to the "net" command does not work as intended. In
case of NT -I parameter gives out an error as

ggplot: a new system for drawing graphics in R
ggplot provides a new system for drawing graphics in R, based on the

multiple data sources. It also implements a more sophisticated
