Which JAGS interface to use?
Frank (or anyone else), can you offer any comments comparing runjags, R2jags, rjags ? I couldn't find any vignettes, nothing except a brief mention on Task Views. Error installing rjags in Ubuntu Linux
Hi, Here is a step-by-step guide to exactly how I've installed R in Ubuntu: http://www.nabble.com/installing-R-on-Ubuntu-td10025949.html#a21894865 Regarding rjags, here is what happened: This webpage (http://yusung.blogspot.com/2009/01/install-jags-and-rjags-in-fedora.html) recommends logging into R as sudo R, and then typing: install.packages("rjags",

problem with rjags installation in ubuntu 14.04
Hello folks Earlier versions of jags and rjags installed on my system without any difficulty, but I'm having trouble with jags version 4.3.0-1ubuntu2~ubuntu14.04.1~ppa1 (from Michael Rutter's R ppa) and rjags version 4.6. The call to install.packages() I always used successfully now produces the error "cannot link to JAGS library in /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu."? shown below

R, Coda, and OpenBUGS
Hi All, I am trying to figure out how to use R-Coda with the output from OpenBugs. I have installed and loaded the packages BRugs and R2WinBUGS. I have successfully run a simple Bayes model in WinBUGS using R2WinBUGS' "bugs" and have used "read.bugs" to build the coda object. I can successfully switch to OpenBugs and run the same model and get the basic summary

Coda, HPDinterval and multiple chains
Dear all, I'm not 100% sure if this question is best directed at the r-list, or a mailing list concerned with Bayesian analysis, so please accept my apologies if another audience may be more appropriate. I have been using the rjags package to run Jags models with multiple chains and store the results in a Coda based mcmc list. For instance, having created a jags model and done initial

unable to install rjags on 64-bit Debian Linux (etch)
While I have been able to install rjags on my Windows computer, oddly I have been unable to install rjags successfully on my 64-bit Linux compute server (etch, Linux kernel 2.6.18). I am required to specify the JAGS module directory upon installation; when doing this within R, I get:

Deal all, as MCMClogit does not allow for the specification of several chains, I have run my model 3 times with different random number seeds and differently dispersed multivariate normal priors. Can't install rjags on LinuxMint 12
Hi, I'm trying to install rjags and R2jags with R version 2.14.1 (2011-12-22) on Linux Mint 12 machine using software repository: deb http://cran.fhcrc.org/bin/linux/ubuntu oneiric/ jags seems to install OK, but rjags gives a weird error about not finding fprec symbol. Here is a history of the problem including several attempts to work around it. (Because of Ben Bolker's recent

Trying to install rjags on Mac OS X 10.5
Greetings, I wonder if anyone can offer any help or advice--even direction to an appropriate source of advice. I am trying to install rjags 1.0.1 on Mac OS X 10.5 (see http://www-fis.iarc.fr/~martyn/software/jags/). I have R.app 2.6.1 installed. JAGS 1.0.1 is apparently successfully installed. I (think I) know this because when I type 'jags' into Terminal, I get the following:

Can the output of Sys.getenv() be improved?
Within an R session, type Sys.getenv() will list all the environment variables, but each one of them occupies about a page, so scrolling to find one is difficult. Is this because I don't know how to use it or something could be improved? Usually I'm not sure the exact name of a variable but want to look it up. Recently I installed rjags, with the JAGS-3.4.0's lib, include, modules

Request for jags package to be added to CRAN Debian/Ubuntu archives
May I request that Dirk's package for jags be added to the CRAN archives for Debian and Ubuntu? Installing the rjags package for R requires specific versions of jags to be present on the system. The current version of rjags requires jags version 2.2.0 or later but the version on the Ubuntu archives at Canonical (i.e. not the CRAN archives) is 2.1.0-2 I can always install Dirk's package

steps for problems compiling a package
Recently installed 2.12.1 on my CentOS 5.5 box. Install of R went without incident, and packages downloaded and compiled fine. With one exception -- my interest is somewhat in the problems with this particular package, but more in terms of 'what to do if/when a package' doesn't compile properly. The offending package (in this instance) is rjags. When I try to install it using
