3com mba 4.30 problem
Hello All, I seem to be having a problem with PXE under the 3com MBA once the pxe loads the standard redhat 7.2 lilo prompt and I type my label which is a4-72 and hit enter, I get: Loading vmlinuz... and it stops most of the time. Sometimes it loads and once it gets to the part of installing linux the screen turns red and I get "interrupt handler not syncing" Thanks -- Otis DeWitt -

Potential Error/Bug?: addition of NULL during arithmetic
I encountered an error that does not make sense to me given my reading of the documentation and does not appear to be referenced in the list archives or online. The error occurred when a function received a NULL value rather than a numeric value as a parameter and then attempted to use the NULL value in the calculateion. The error: "Error during wrapup: nothing to replace with" can

Large scale Samba installations
Hello Samba folks- I'm currently in the position of trying to convince my IT management that using Samba to provide SMB services to our NT client base is a Good Thing. Our client/server situation is as follows: o An HA cluster of two quad-cpu (400MHz) Sun Enterprise servers, with IP address takeover on failover. o About 1000 Windows NT clients connecting via SMB o

Changing parameter in local fdr R code
I am using Efron's local fdr procedure. But, I want to change the null from N(0,1) to N(0, 0.002). I can access the function but I have no idea what to change. In other words, I want nulltype to be N(0,0.002) instead of N(0,1) in his function. Anyone has any ideas. This is his code for the local fdr: function (zz, bre = 120, df = 7, pct = 0, pct0 = 1/4, nulltype = 1, type = 0, plot = 1,

Opening a script with the R editor via file association (on Windows)
I read the posting about opening .R files in windows with the Rgui and was wondering if anything has changed for R-2.8.1 and Windows Vista? I have not yet been able to get the files to open in the Rgui, the association works enough to open R but that is about it. Thanks for the input. -Peter DeWitt -- Peter DeWitt PhD Candidate Department of Statistics Colorado State University "For

glm or transformation of the response?
Hi Dr. Snow, I am a graduate student working on analyzing data for my thesis and came across your post on an R forum: The default link function for the glm poisson family is a log link, which means that it is fitting the model: log(mu) ~ b0 + b1 * x But the data that you generate is based on a linear link. Therefore your glm analysis does not match with how the data was generated

How to put a limit on the number of simultaneous session that a user can open ?
Hi list, I'm using Samba 3.0.4 on FreeBSD 5.2.1 as PDC for nt4 clients. Is it possible to set a limit concerning the number of parallel session that a domain user can open ? My goal is to allow only one session per user. NIS, Samba
Hi, I have samba 2.1 (last month cvs) working as a PDC on a linux machine. Everything works fine except for the connection (opening a session), which is very slow. Login could take up to 5minutes. Making the samba server a slave NIS server helped a lot, however it still gets extremely slow when several (>20) users try to login at the same time. This problem occurs only when there are many

so apparently the printer name and the share name for the printer need to be the same so cups knows where to send the print job. <p>By the way, my configuration file was generated by SWAT, so it was SWAT that put the *&nbsp;command's in the conf file, and it was SWAT that allowed me to name the share something other than the name of the printer. <p>Dan <p>Ries van Twisk

I downloaded the latest source (2.0.7) and tried to compile LDAP support (--with-ldap) but I got an error "LDAP password database not supported in this version". Can anyone tell me what I need to do to get LDAP support. I downloaded an older

samba head
I was wondering if anyone could help me out. I read the Samba-PDC LDAP howto for both the HEAD and TNG samba versions. Since it appears the TNG LDAP stuff isn't functional, I wanted to try to setup samba using the older HEAD schema. I have tried several times to to compile the 10/15/99 samba on a linux box using the 2.2.14 kernel, but I consistantly get the same compile error. I have
