[Shorewall-users] New Shorewall user trying to get ulogd setup
quick background: RH9 (2.4.20-19.9) Shorewall 1.4.6a-1 ulogd 1.00 Shorewall is working properly. I''ve followed the FAQ instructions and everything appears to be setup correctly. The problem is that I''m trying to get ulog going...but I''m getting: # service ulogd status ulogd dead but subsys locked I''m not sure if I was suppose to, but I also manually created the ulogd.syslogemu file in /var/log because when I tried to shutdown shorewall (in WebMin) it complained that the file didn''t exist. Anyway...it appears that I can''t start the ulogd daemon. I''m pretty rusty on the linux box so be gentle :) chris

Harald Welte, the current maintainer of NetFilter, is the author of ulogd and there is a vigorous netfilter help list at netfilter@lists.netfilter.org. -Tom -- Tom Eastep \ Shorewall - iptables made easy Shoreline, \ shorewall.net Washington USA \ teastep@shorewall.net

There''s a tarball of all of the files plus the file tree. For those who grabbed this environment before now, I regret that the ulogd.conf file was missing.
