[Shorewall-users] Seeking a user of Shorewall in San Diego, CA
The San Diego Linux Users Group is discussing firewalls at our 2 meetings in April, and we are seeking someone with experience using Shorewall in San Diego Orange or Los Angeles Counties, California. Shorewall will be a short segment of the main presentation. Do you know of anyone in San Diego, that may be using Shorewall, and if so, could you have that person contact me? Thank you for any assistance. Walt Pennington walt@sdlug.org w_pennington@yahoo.com http://www.SDLUG.org

I''m using Shorewall on my connection Roadrunner cable modem connection in=20 San Diego. However I would not classify myself as a wiz with it - my=20 configuration is a basic 2-interface Masqueradining setup with a few ports=20 forwarded through to a server on the back side (although I DO also have an=20 IPv6 tunnel landing on the firewall, and had to put rules in for that ). =20 You can contact me off-list at ganzer@san.rr.com -Mark Ganzer On Fri, 29 Mar 2002, Walt Pennington wrote:> The San Diego Linux Users Group is discussing firewalls at our 2 meetings in=20 > April, and we are seeking someone with experience using Shorewall in San=20 > Diego Orange or Los Angeles Counties, California. While I wouldn''t consider myself anything resembling a shorewall expert I setup and maintain a more complicated shorewall setup for my company in the Mira Mesa area of San Diego. Shorewall and basic linux routing control access to our Internet T1 connections (with SQUID caching), private client T1 (with NAT), corporate frame relay link, and freeswan ipsec connections. I was a previous user of Seawall and the kernel 2.4 and Shorewall upgrade have proven to be incredibly flexible for us. Like Mark stated in his response to your message I also use Shorewall to secure my home cable connection. If I can be of any assistance please email me privately at this address.
