The kernel module loading fix included in Shorewall 2.0.2d fails to load modules when MODULE_SUFFIX is not set in shorewall.conf. There are three possible ways to avoid this problem: a) Set MODULE_SUFFIX="o gz ko o.gz ko.gz" is shorewall.conf. b) Install the ''firewall'' script from the 2.0.2 errata: http://shorewall.net/pub/shorewall/errata/2.0.2/firewall ftp://shorewall.net/pub/shorewall/errata/2.0.2/firewall c) Upgrade to 2.0.2f http://shorewall.net/pub/shorewall/shorewall-2.0.2f ftp://shorewall.net/pub/shorewall/shorewall-2.0.2f It''s been a while since I''ve had to wear my brown paper bag; I''ve taken Francesca''s advice though and cut eye holes in it... -Tom -- Tom Eastep \ Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool Shoreline, \ http://shorewall.net Washington USA \ teastep@shorewall.net

Considering that the development is primarily left to you, and how quickly you fix problems, I think you do amazingly well. Shorewall is a great firewall, and just like any other program it''s prone to bugs, sometimes persistent ones, but you''ve always fixed bugs immediately when they''re reported. I''m impressed. Thanks for a great product! David
