debian packages: krb5
Does anyone know where I can find the needed Debian packages for
installing Kerberos 1.3.1?
>From what I've been told I need these for ADS support in Samba. There
are no backports for Kerberos 1.3 or higher. If anyone has any
suggestions besides building from source, I'd like to hear them.
Thanks,

Ok, /etc/samba/smbusers is missing. But why?
I have no idea, where to search further.
Please give me any hints.

Samba 3.0 and ADS How to
HelloList,
Do someone have got a link/document/"How To" for setting up Samba 3.0 in
ADS-Enviroment.
I read Samba-Collection-How-To, but I got stuck and need help.
My favour will be a easy and perspicuous manual like a walkthrough
Thanks in advance.

Cannot install printers via CUPS in Samba3.0.2a on debian sarge
...ng?
Or is my understanding of printing wrong?
I am absolutely without an idea where to go from here on.
Reading the samba-docs did not help me really, and the new book
"samba-3 by example" is on the way to me.
Thank you for any hint.

security = ADS with libkrb53.
I've been trying to get samba to integrate with a Win2000 ADS, with
very limited success.. but from recent postings I think I have found
my problem. I am only using libkrb 1.2.4. I know I need 1.3.3, but
don't particularly want to compile from source. I'm running a Debian
Stable machine, so was wondering if anyone knows of where I can get a
backport to woody of the newest Kerberos

NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE on auth to a win NT4-server
...am failed!
I found so many questions with the NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE - error, but
no solution or at minimum any hint, what is going wrong here.
Connecting from a windows-box I get always the password-dialog-box.

Samba vs DHCP
I was using a Samba server under a SUNOS 5.5.1 operative system. This
SUN machine was the server of a number of Lynux (Mandrake) and Windows
(95,98, XP) computers in a TCP/IP network with fixed IP numbers. We were
oblied to change to DHCP recently. As our network has a huge number of
computers I am running the smbd and nmbd daemos of the Samba with an
identification in such a way that only those

Here's an update for those of you struggling to get Samba
working in an AD domain environment.
~ Summary: in securirty = ads, clients can browse to the
~ Samba member server via IP but not by name (either netbios
~ or DNS). Kinit and wbinfo -t all work as expected.
The apparent reason for this is that the 2k client uses

OK. I've done some more research, and here's what I get.

Version 3.0.0
strings libkrb5.so.3.2 | grep BRAND

Everything seems to work, but trying to access the Samba server results in:
