Free Mirrors
Help!! We offer 4 gigs of classical ogg files at pan.zipcon.net. Traffic can be very heavy, even with a mirror at MIT, which however may disappear in the future. Free mirrors are very welcome. Please contact gold@gas.zipcon.net, if you can help. Al Goldstein at gas.zipcon.net

The Italian Harpsichord files were not up as claimed to be --they were the wrong files. They were replaced Dec 14 at 14.00 PST with the correct ones including track title. My apologies. Also ogg files were missing for several recordings. They have been added. To do yet: record jacket info and more recordings. We welcome cooments and suggestions. .....Al Goldstein --- >8 ---- List archives:

changes at pan.zipcon
1) A table of contents is in "LIST." 2) The tree has had some simplification. 3) 2 directories have been added: "wget" and "Windows." These are put in to help in downloading. Corrections to false assertions and other mistakes would be greatly appreciated, as well as simplifications and improvements. ..........Al --- >8 ---- List archives:

Acknowledgemnts and some new stuff
Some new stuff in the directories horn and strings. I am indebted to Nathan Sharfi for totally reorganizing the web page of pan.zipcon. It was a heroic effort, as there was considerable mess. Included were important help for Windows and Mac users, -- how to get free music players and how to use wget for download. This contribution is a milestone in the popularization of ogg-vorbis. See readme.html in the root directory of http://p...

AW: Acknowledgemnts and some new stuff
...directory of files with another directory pointing to it, there > are dupicate files downloaded. This is a bad waste of bandwidth. How is this done? Will it work with HTTrack too? And another problem -- if I setup HTTrack to check on changes I fear I will get a nearly complete new copy of pan.zipcon. Does anyone knew a way around that? I've tried to avoid windows whenever possible because it is so difficult to understand and use, besides the bugs. I've been forced to it for income tax, however. Since so many customers of pan.zipcon.net use windows, I feel an obligation to have a better acquaintence with it. I have not as yet tried any builds just available binaries. I intend to write up instructions for novices in my home page. Any help or squawks would be greatly appreciated. I'm using win2000. Wget 1.81 was relatively...

A little more on R, mdbtools and Access databases
Hi again, I have played a little more with mdbtools and R. I downloaded the latest version of mdbtools from sourceforge (version 0.6pre1). Quickly scanning the mailing list suggests that ODBC seems to work with PHP but I have not been able to get it to work with R. I can make a connection to the database and when I do a query I get back the names of the rows but not the data. I must admit I have
