Realtime trouble with contex
Hello, Asterisk.
I am currently using Asterisk (asterisk-1.2.13) and asterisk-addons-1.2.3_1

So, after setup asterisk for realtime extension:

all Factor levels remain and I need to get rid of

Server Criteria
I've been doing a lot of background reading/searching of this list,
voip-info.org, and Google, looking to define a good candidate for a
server platform. I'm very interested in thoughts from others! So here
goes...
Axiom 1: if you are not doing doing much transcoding (converting
between codecs), the bottleneck for supporting high volumes of
simultaneous calls is system bus speed,

Samba 3.0.11 smbd hangs
Hi Guys,
I have experienced an issue when the smbd stops responding, and after cannot
kill the process, using SIGTERM or SIGKILL. A reboot cured the problem. I
had the same problem once again a couple of days later. I realised that both
times I had changed my smb.conf file directly, using vi, and shortly before
the hang occured. The changes to the file were very minor, and the two were

PRI problem???
I have just finished installing a new asterisk box at my work. The box is
quite hefty, dual Zeon 2.8s with SCSI drives and 2Gb of memory. I have a 4
port Digium T1 card for channel bank and PRI access.
I activated a PRI from a local CLEC (DMS-500 based, National protocol).
This PRI is on slot 2 of the card and is set as the primary timing source.
It is ESF/B8ZS.
All the software is latest

W2000 AD - Samba-3.0.23d authorization problem
*This message was transferred with a trial version of CommuniGate(r) Pro*
Greetings, All
There's simple AD, running on Win2000 (realm - 0905.DN.STA, workgroup - SGNI)
and samba-3.0.23d installed on FreeBSD-5.3 with
ADS/LDAP/WINBIND/PAM/SYSLOG/QUOTAS/ACL. Also heimdal-0.6.3 installed.
I need to join samba to domain as a AD member (with help of kerberos auth).
Let's start with config files:

I was thinking along the lines of Dual 2.8 Zeons in the 1425, although if
I was using two machines for loadbalancing I could stick to just 1 CPU in
each.

Could the same result could be obtained if hyperthreading is disabled from
the BIOS ?
Supermicro Motherboards (most Phoneix based) have this option
Also, would we see same pops and clicks in a dual CPU box (Zeon) then ?

Applying user function over a large matrix
Respected R experts,
I am trying to apply a user function that basically calls and
applies the R loess function from stat package over each time
series. I have a large matrix of size 21 X 9000000 and I need
to apply the loess for each column and hence I have
implemented this separate user function that applies loess
over each column and I am calling this function foo as follows:

Server Requirements
Hi,
I'm looking to stream a large amount of conncurrent connects and want to
use icecast probably on a CentOS base. The bandwidth requirements are over
60 Mbps before any overheads, I'm looking at using some Dell SC1425 machines
but am not sure how many I'd need, I'd appreciated hearing your experiences
and suggestions.
I need to be able to stream the following simultaneous

Bridged PRI calls - processor involvement?
On a zaptel TE410p, when a call is bridged PRI - PRI how much involvement does the processor have?
We're now seeing chunks of missing audio and I can't tell whether this is due to a kernel upgrade or to a zaptel/libpri/asterisk upgrade.
I'm not seeing missed interrupts (from a cat of the proc/zaptel files), any other ideas on how I could go about tracking this down?

NMI issues...
I have read thru what other users have tried in this list when they have
experienced seemingly similar issues to what I have, without success. I
suspect there might be an issue regarding both the X100P and TDM04b cards
being used in an Intel SE7525GP2 motherboard, as I had to even wait for a
BIOS update from Intel in order to utilize my 3ware 9500 SATA raid
controller on it (3ware Kb -->

unofficial Survey about your Dovecot server :) to compare with my own server setup...
Hi Borthers/Sisters
Thanks for all the developer(s) and for all the hard work spent on build
this great piece of software! I loved Dovecot since it is really easy to
set up and really fast but I am really new to it (only 2 weeks and
half). Right now, our server configuration is:
Server: Apple Xserve G5 dual
RAM: 4GB
Number of Users: ~ 150 IMAP only users
Authentication: LDAP

High CPU usage
The below seems to give me several minutes of 15-60% cpu usage. As far as
I can tell there doesn''t seem to be anything really wrong with my
configuration.
Anyone have any idea why this might be the case? I also get about 6%
memory usage.
This is a 3.0 ghz Xeon with 2 gigs of memory.

This really bogs down the system for several minutes each run, using 100% cpu
and 50% of ram (this system has 3 gigs of memory!). What am I doing wrong
here?
