XScreenSaver
Hi, I'm currently moving all our local school's desktop clients from Slackware 14.1 to CentOS 7 + Xfce. Right now I'm fine-tuning the default user profile. I have a problem with XScreenSaver. The application per se works very well. Only there's a hard-coded pop-up window that reminds the user that he's not running the latest version. So, if I'm running version 5.36 as

I just got the following response from Jamie Zawinski, the XScreenSaver developer: "Yes, your distro sucks, and I wish they would stop redistributing my software if they refuse to keep it up to date." He apparently had the same reaction with the Debian guys. Niki -- Microlinux - Solutions informatiques durables 7, place de l'?glise...

[LLVMdev] Which linux distribution required the least effort to install LLVM 2.3?
Hi! I'm a new LLVM user. I want to start using the LLVM System v2.3. However, I don't want to spend all my time hunting, pecking, downgrading, and/or upgrading packages to get LLVM v2.3 running. I was wondering which Linux distrubutions(FC7, Ubuntu, NetBSD, etc) have required the least effort out of the box to start running LLVM v2.3. tia, Bernardo Elayda -------------- next part

Groups
Hello, Is it possible to group many nodes together? Suppose I have a large number of machines that I all want to have the same config - rather than specify them as individual nodes each inheriting the same config, I''d like to say that a group inherits a config, and define the group elsewhere. Does this sort of construction already exist? Could it be cobbled together from what we

XEmacs vs. GNU Emacs?
As a user of only R, I don't use much of the potential of ESS and Emacs. Without entering a religious feud, is there any reason I should use XEmacs rather than my current GNU Emacs? (I looked on the XEmacs site, but I didn't understand the programming issues they were talking about (over my head).) Martin Henry H. Last year I arranged with my college radio station and ITS department to webcast the radiostation using icecast. The webcast has been a wonderful success so far. My problem now is not technical, but political. A few days ago I recieved the following message from the station director: ================================================================== hey josh, i talked to [faculty advisor]
