the number of extensions isn't the issue. it is the signal the meridian
broadcasts when your digital telephone on your desk is on/off hook, or
ringing or whatever. if you could tap into that information and monitor it
with something similar to *'s manager interface

SUSE 9.2 and Zaptel channels
Of course I am not a kernel expert, so .. please be patient.
I am investigating on my zaptel/zapata problem.
As the main error message asterisk quits on mentions <'/dev/zap/channel':

compiled Zaptel and am
experiencing something strange. I followed the instructions on
README.udevs to the tee,

TDM400 not working
Hi, all
I have installed TDM400 card. I can see it is there (lspci).
But Asterisk does not find it.
phonebox2*CLI> zap show status
No Zaptel interface found.
I assume that driver is not loaded, but I am sure I have installed it (I
compiled zaptel and then re-build asterisk and did make install for both
zaptel and asterisk).
When asterisk is started I get:

Sending DTMF Tones Offhook
Greetings All!
The Asterisk Call Manager works great. But I have one question for
anyone who has used it. I cannot get the system to send some DTMF
tones down the channel once the call has been made. Below is the
script I am using to make the call, and start recording the channel.
I am starting to make a system the will use asterisk to become an
automatic random quality monitoring system

Problems with ZAP Channels
Hi everyone,
Sometimes i am having problems with Zap channels on asterisk 1.2
(Disc-OS 1.1), after some calls, the channel continues in use, even
after hanging the call up, then
i need to run the "soft hangup Zap/<zapchannel>" in the asterisk CLI to
release the channel. Here is my zapata.conf:

ZT_CHANCONFIG failed on channel 1: No such device or address
I have had a TDM400 with 2 FXO and 2 FXS working for ages (>12 months). It has stopped working. All four green lights are still lit. I have rebuilt zaptel and asterisk and restarted but the problem persists.

show pri usage
Hi,
I would like to know how to see which channels are used in my PRI E1 link from Asterisk to another locally-connected commercial PBX.
If I run "dahdi show channels", I can see the used channels in the second column "extension" but only if it's an "incoming" call (ie. legacy PBX to Asterisk).
If I dial from an Asterisk extension to an extension in the other

I've been testing * on FC3. I have everything compiled and installed.
However, when I do 'modprobe wcfxo' (I have an X100P clone), I get the

Zap not installing
I have decided to move on from Asterisk@Home and start compiling asterisk
myself now. I got a dedicated box and put my X100P in it. I installed the
server version of CentOS 4.2 (2.6.9-22.EL kernel) barebones. The box is a
dell GX270 workstation with 1GB of RAM. I got a fresh copy of O'Reilly's

/dev/zap* is not showing up (gentoo, portage, asterisk 1.0.8)
hi there
I'm trying to get asterisk going on gentoo 2005.1
I'm just getting my feet wet so I thought I would just stick with the
stable portage packages. Right now that's asterisk 1.0.8
I emerge asterisk with the following make.conf file:

CHOST="i386-pc-linux-gnu"

DID from an analog phone
hi all,
I wanted to call my asterisk on the Zapchannel with mainnumber+DID number:
it's ok for calls from handy and from sip i get the right
extension(DID) on phone, but when i call from an analog telephone the
DID number is not mentioned by asterisk.
in my zapata.conf:
overlapdial = yes
immediate = no
That should take care of the waiting for DID numbers, which it
doesn't. Asterisk
